The relevant literature reveals that school leaders are at the forefront of the endeavor for implementing policies and making-decisions with regard to the professional development of teachers. In order to plan, implement, and evaluate the appropriate programming, school leaders, especially principals, must make decisions that promote a professional development culture in the school. This research study is aimed towards exploring the decision-making processes of the principal with regard to teacher's professional development in a private sector school. The study intended to know how these decisions support teachers' professional development, engendering a culture of professional development in the school. The researcher selected tire private sector because the principals working in the private sector schools are more autonomous as compared to their counterpart in the public sector. Since the study was undertaken in a real school context, qualitative case study design best suited the feat to explore and understand the processes involved in a principal's decision-making process with regard to the professional development of his/her teachers. Qualitative data were collected through interview, observation and document analysis. A semi-structured interview guide was used to interview the research participant. Findings of the study reveal that the decision-making process is a complex and tension-stricken process. There is no specific framework or way to process professional development decisions, rather it depends on the situation and professional needs of the teachers; one size may not fit in all situations. Therefore, the principal processes the decisions with regard to professional development using various strategies and procedures according to the situation; such as, sole decision, individual-led decision, shared decision and decision through intimation. Among all these processes, the principal of the school prefers shared decisions. However, because of different situation, shared decision-making could not always be practiced, but he mostly uses shared decision-making approach as an effective decision-making process. The findings of the study have implications for the private sector schools with similar contexts to lead the decision-making processes for professional development initiatives.

گزشتہ دنوں ضلع جون پور اور اس کے نوح کے مشہور شیخ طریقت اور ممتاز عالم ربانی مولانا شاہ عبدلحلیم صاحب جونپوری رحلت فرماگئے۔ اناﷲ وانا الیہ راجعون۔
مولانائے مرحوم ۱۹۰۷؁ء میں ضلع فیض آباد کے ایک گاؤں دیوریا میں پیدا ہوئے ابتدائی تعلیم مدرسہ عین العلوم ٹانڈہ میں ہوئی۔ مظاہرالعلوم سہارنپور سے سند فراغت حاصل کی۔ ابتداً مظاہرالعلوم ہی میں مدرس مقرر ہوئے مگر طبیعت کی خرابی کی بنا پر جلد ہی اپنے وطن واپس آگئے، یہاں مسلمان بچوں کی ابتدائی تعلیم کے لیے ایک مکتب قائم کیا پھر ترک سکونت کرکے ضلع جونپور کے قدیم مردم خیز قصبہ مانی کلاں میں مستقل بود وباش اختیار کی۔ اور یہیں کے قدیم مدرسہ میں درس و تدریس پر مامور ہوگئے۔ ۱۹۷۳؁ء میں مانی کلاں کو خیرباد کہہ کر اس کے قریب ہی لب سڑک واقع موضع گورینی میں ایک مدرسہ ریاض العلوم کی بنیاد رکھی، جس نے مولانائے مرحوم کی سرپرستی و نگرانی میں بڑی ترقی کی۔
مولانا کی طبیعت کا رجحان ہمیشہ رشد و اصلاح کی طرف رہا، اس نواح میں ان کی ذات سے لوگوں کو بڑا فیض پہنچا، وہ شاہ وصی اﷲ فتح پوریؒ اور شیخ الحدیث مولانا محمد زکریاؒ کے مسترشد اور خلیفہ تھے، جونپور اور اعظم گڑھ کے علاوہ بمبئی اور گجرات وغیرہ میں بھی ان کے مریدین کا بڑا حلقہ تھا، ان کی سرپرستی میں مدرسہ کے احاطہ میں کئی تبلیغی اجتماعات بھی منعقد ہوئے۔ مولانا عبدلحلیم بڑے متواضع، ملنسار اور مقدس بزرگ تھے، ایک مدت سے مختلف عوارض کا شکار تھے، راقم الحروف کو عرصہ سے ان سے نیاز مندی کا شرف حاصل تھا۔ متعدد بار ان کی مزاج پرسی اور عیادت کے لیے حاضر ہوا، مگر کبھی ان کی زبان سے کسی طرح کا شکوہ و شکایت نہیں سننے میں آئی۔ ہر حال میں...

الفتح الربانى لترتيب مسند الامام احمد بن حنبل الشيبانى میں شیخ احمد عبدالرحمن البنا الساعاتی کا منہج و اسلوب

Former Egyptian Muḥaddithīn of the each centuries have played a well-regarded, venerated and esteemed role in services of Ḥadīth and its sciences. Their outstanding contribution in this regard has been appreciated in each century of Islamic history. Those Muḥaddithīn have left valuable work on Ḥadīth and its sciences in their popular and basic sources of Ḥadīth for coming generations. Muḥaddithīn of 20th century were not less than the former in their involvement in the field of Hadith. Their dynamic and marvelous efforts are needed to be unveiled for scholars and students of Ḥadīth. Al-shaykh Abdur Raḥmān al Banna Al sāʻātī is known as one of the prominent Egyptian Muḥaddithīn in 20th century. He made extraordinary efforts in the field of Ḥadīth and its sciences through compiling and writing various remarkable books in this regard. His marvelous work in Alfatḥ Al-Rabbānī li Tartīb Musnad Al-Imām Aḥmad bin Hanbal Al-Shaybānī on Musnad Imām Aḥmad bin Hanbal in its rearranging, categorizing and organizing its Ḥadīth is deserved to be cherished and focused on due to its significance and importance in the field of Ḥadīth. He is the first Muḥaddith who presented the Aḥādīth of Musnad in seven outstanding chapters to facilitate the researchers in their accessing to the main theme of the Musnad. In this paper the life sketch of Al-Shayk Abdur Raḥmān, his scholarly contribution in the field of Ḥadīth and his methodology in his renowned book alfatḥ al-Rabbānī has been discussed and highlighted its valuable aspects.

The Chemistry of Urea, Thiourea and Their Applications in Material & Bio-Sciences

The research work reported in the thesis comprises two parts. In the first part the reaction of ortho-phthaldehyde with urea, thiourea and their N-alkyl/aryl derivatives is conducted in acidic and basic media. The resulting chromogens and non-chromogens compounds are separated by physical, chemical and various kinds of chromatographic techniques and structure are elucidated by all means of spectroscopy and a single X-ray crystallography. After identification of compounds, the methods for the determination of urea present in biological samples are worked out; this will help in modification of existing clinical techniques used for exact diagnosis of various diseases. Biological properties of the compounds (isoindolines, benzodiazepines and isobenzofuran) obtained from the above said reactions are evaluated. In the second part of the thesis functionalised diarylcarbenes are synthesized which are excellent reactive intermediates suitable for the direct surface modification of organic polymers which are in fact used to introduce urea and thiourea functions onto polystyrene at loading levels of up to 2.3 x 1013 molecules/cm2. Surface modification is confirmed by different spectral and non-spectral techniques (ATR-IR, XPS & elemental analysis). The moidifed polymers are capable of reversible binding and release of peroxide at loading levels of up to 0.6 mmol/g, and polymers display biocidal activity against a spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
