The study 'Exploring the Contribution of the Head teacher in School Improvement in a Learning Resource School' was conducted in a Learning Resource School (LRS) of Gilgit-Baltistan, with the aim of exploring the strategies school principal uses to involve teachers, parents, students, and community in school improvement. The study was conducted in qualitative paradigm by employing case study method. The participants were selected using purposive sampling. The participants of the study were the head teacher of the school, four teachers (two male and two female), four students (two male and two female), the convener of Village Education Committee (VEC), and the Head of Regional School Development Unit (RSDU). Data were collected using semi-structured interviews, focused group interviews, observation and document analysis. The findings of the study revealed that the school leadership uses various strategies: capacity building of the teaching staff, empowering teachers, and students by assigning them leadership roles, and involving the entire community in school activities for school improvement. Furthermore, the findings also illustrate that mentoring, in-house professional development sessions, reflective practices, lesson observation followed by feedback and making professional development groups (PDGs) of the teachers are being carried out for the teachers' professional development. Furthermore, the findings of the study also revealed that the VEC as a representative body of the community acts as a bridge between the community and the school. Additionally, The VEC also plays a significant role in community mobilization towards school improvement, with an ultimate aim of improvement in students' learning. The study suggests that by the continuous involvement of teachers in professional development activities, involving teachers and students in leadership roles, mobilizing the community through VEC, and networking with other institutions is helpful in school improvement.

سر محمد یعقوب کی ناگہانی وفات کا سانحہ اخباروں میں آچکا ہے، مرحوم مراد آباد کے رہنے والے تھے، ان کے والد ماجد مولوی محمد اسماعیل صاحب وکیل شاہجانپور نہایت نیک، متین و دیندار بزرگ تھے، ندوۃ العلماء کے رکن تھے اور ۱۹۰۸؁ء کی تبلیغی تحریک میں مولانا شبلی مرحوم کے ساتھ تھے، سر محمد یعقوب نے گو انگریزی تعلیم پائی تھی، مگر مذہبی ذوق ورثہ میں پایا تھا اور بڑے خوش قسمت تھے، مراد آباد کی کامیاب وکالت سے لے کر کونسل کی صدارت تک اور پھر سرکار نظام کے مشیر اصلاحات کے رتبہ تک انہوں نے جو ترقی کی وہ سراسر ان کی خوش قسمتی کا نتیجہ تھی، دعا ہے کہ اﷲ تعالیٰ ان کو اس عالم میں بھی خوش قسمت بنائے، وہ بہت خوش خلق، متواضع، متحمل اور حاجت مندوں اور ضرورت مندوں کی امداد میں کشادہ دست تھے، غفر اﷲ تعالیٰ۔ (سید سلیمان ندوی، دسمبر ۱۹۴۲ء)

 

The Analytical Study of Medication During Fasting in the Perspective of Shariah Rulings

The beauty of religion Islam is not only to provide the complete life style and charter for one to lead his life smoothly but it flourishes the human life with its eternal directions and commands full of hidden pleasures coupled with physical and spiritual care of human body. In fact, the everlasting religion comprised of such rulings that help individuals in every walk of life until and unless these rulings are implemented and executed in a proper way according to the prescribed codes of Almighty Allah and his Messenger, Prophet Muhammad PBUH. The thorough study of Shariah rulings reveals the fact that to protect the man’s life or even to make it in comfort and ease, the gradual and steady relaxation has been observed like the one unable to perform prayer in standing position, legitimate for him to sit or even through gestures according to the status of his illness and disease. Similarly, the fasting is important part of Worship, obligation upon Muslim to observe fasting during Ramadan with intentions to get Allah’s pleasure and piousness. This research study emphasis on highlighting the shariah rulings about the medication during fasting in order to know the extent of use, specification in drugs like injections and drips along with some relevant discussion about the spirit of medicine permission. The study will be the real addition to the knowledge and will be fine guidance for the Practiced Muslims.

Challenges of Manufacturing Born Global SME : Evidence from Surgical Instrument Manufacturing Cluster, Sialkot, Pakistan

Owing to their gigantic participation in global economic growth, the phenomenon of SMEs internationalization has become the centre of attention for numerous researchers. The firms operating from low-tech industry and from developing nation were largely ignored. Internationalization phenomenon from underdeveloped cluster of a developing nation facing daunting challenges that hinder SMEs performance and growth; turns out to be an attention-grabbing area – hence, worth-investigating. The purpose of this study is to investigate the challenges of manufacturing born global SMEs from surgical instrument manufacturing cluster Sialkot, Pakistan. More specifically, the objective is to explore the kind of challenges and their effect on the performance of these born global SMEs. To carry out this research, data was collected through a questionnaire from 100 respondents (managers/entrepreneurs). Based on the findings, the study identify the challenges like employees' loyalty, shortage of skilled technical workforce, retention of experienced and skilled workforce, staff motivation, staff recognition and promotion, staff development, and performance appraisals. The results of this study also support the hypothesis that poor management skills (FIRM, marketing, finance, and production) are challenges and contribute to the poor performance of manufacturing born global SMEs. Manufacturing born global SMEs are facing challenge of lack of government policy on born global SMEs, tax issues and reduced rebates, and shortage of skilled labor force.
