This study explored the roles of District Education Management Officers (DEMOs) for Teacher Professional Development (TPD) in District Ghanche, Gilgit Baltistan. The study also explored the perceptions of key stakeholders (e.g., head teachers, teacher and students) about these training programmes. The data was collected through qualitative research method, including semi-structured interviews, informal conversations, field notes and analysis of relevant documents. It selected two management officers from the central office of the education department, two head teachers, one teacher and five students through purposive sampling. Data came from focus group discussion with students in the school. In addition, the researcher interviewed selected officials of the education department, exploring their views about their roles in TPD. The findings reveal that the DEMOs conceptualize the TPDPs through consensus building among the colleagues before conducting these training programmes. These DEMOs play a pivotal role as communicator in the consensus building among colleagues. On the basis of these consensus and communication they organize different models of training at district level (e.g., workshops, indoor sessions and LRS system etc.). The study found that DEMOs also play a role in the implementation of the learning in these training programmes. They did these jobs by themselves as well as through other officials like, AEOs, DDOs and PDTs. The study also revealed about the perceptions of other stakeholders about the training programmes. According to them these training programmes help in the development of pedagogical skills and create a sense of collaboration among them. It also helps in the enhancement of students learning outcomes both in terms of academic and personal development.

Trading in Influence: Modus Baru dalam Korupsi Indonesia Tahun 2022 dan Paradoks Kriminalisasi

This study evaluates the handling of corruption cases by the Prosecutor's Office, the Police and the Corruption Eradication Commission throughout 2022 and gives a fair grade (C) with a handling percentage of about 50% of the target of 2,772 cases. A comparative assessment of the last five years illustrates the dynamics of the handling of corruption cases. Quantitative charts highlight trends in enforcement, from the number of cases to potential losses to the state. Mapping corruption cases using the influence peddling mode involves identifying, analyzing, and summarizing patterns. Mapping steps include identification of cases, analysis of characteristics, creation of visual maps, integration of contextual factors, trend analysis, and recommendations. This mapping supports the understanding and formulation of strategies for dealing with corruption cases using the influence trading mode. In 2022, budget abuse dominates, followed by price gouging and fictitious activities. The high prevalence of these three methods indicates a lack of oversight in development and widespread corruption in the procurement of goods and services. Of the 579 cases, 43% involved the procurement of goods and services. Influence trading methods were also identified and used 19 times. The delegation of great authority to regional heads creates bargaining in the promotion and transfer of ASN. The case of buying and selling positions involving Regional Heads and ASN reflects the symbiosis between the two, with greed for power and ASN's desire to obtain immediate positions. The rise in this case is likened to an iceberg phenomenon, with the possibility that many cases have yet to be discovered.

Density Functional Studies of the Functional Magnetic Materials

Spin polarized calculations based on FP-(L)APW+lo method were performed on non-magnetic, ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phase of Bi2Fe4O9. Antiferromagnetic phase was energetically favourable. All exchange correlation functionals accurately describe structural properties of Bi2Fe4O9 but failed to calculate correct band structure. All exchange correlation functionals with U gave bandgap values (2.05 - 2.2eV) closer to experimental values (1.9 - 2.1 eV). The calculated DOS showed hybridization between Fe 3d and O 2p states along with minor overlap between Bi 6p and O 2p states in upper valance band. Lower conduction band was composed of Fe 3d states. Magnetic properties of Bi2Fe4O9 were due to Fe3+ ions having magnetic moment ~4μB. Induced magnetic moments at other atomic sites depend on their local environment. Charge density plots reveal slight covalent character and strong ionic character between Fe-O atoms and Bi-O atoms. In absorption spectrum peak at 1.5 eV was attributed to d-d transition of Fe3+ ions. While peak at 2.05 eV was ascribed to transitions from O 2p valence band to conduction band Fe 3d levels. Static dielectric constant and refractive index were 17.61 and 4.4 respectively. Reflectivity has peak at 15.75 and 18.37 eV (λ = 78.66 and 67.44 nm). Peak in energy loss spectrum at 21.99 eV corresponds to abrupt decrease of reflectivity. Spin polarized calculations of Fe doped ferromagnetic EuO (Eu0.75Fe0.25O, Eu0.50Fe0.50O and Eu0.25Fe0.75O) using mBJ+U method show that lattice constant linearly decrease with increasing doping concentration of Fe atoms. Semiconductor EuO shows metallic character when doped with Fe atoms. Doped EuO exhibit extra peaks of Fe atom 3d states between -10 to 3.5 eV in valence band. Decrease in bandgap was due to increased spd exchange interaction between band electrons and localized 3d electrons of transition atom. Effect of doping was found to be dependent on the location of dopant ions. Electronic and magnetic properties of ferromagnetic EuFeO3 were calculated using mBJ+U exchange correlation functional that better describe energy bandgap values of strongly correlated 4f system. The calculated bandgap 2.7 eV agrees with experimental value. EuFeO3 was found to be charge transfer insulator due to existence of bandgap between O 2p and Eu 4f states.
