In our English classrooms, especially in the context of Chitral, teaching of writing is done in a very traditional manner where teachers focus onthe product rather than the process of writing. More importantly, they consider classroom as the only place for learning, and therefore, mostly neglect the extracurricular activities and informal spaces for innovations, thus making the students passive receivers of knowledge and imitators of what has been taught in the classroom. Children are unable to express themselves properly because they are not provided with opportunities to bring in their experiences and feelings into their writings. Thus, teachers need to utilize informal spaces and come up with innovative pedagogies to enhance students’ creative writing. The study aims to facilitate the teaching of writing stories in the lower secondary level by utilizing the informal spaces in the form of ‘field trips ‘in an English language classroom. Through using a qualitative method and collaborative action plan, the study was conducted in an English medium private school in the context of Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The participants of this study comprised one section of grade eight students (n=16) and two English language teachers who were teaching English language to lower secondary level. Students’ work was analyzed to see whether there was improvement in their written stories after having field trips to the bank and the hospital. The use of field trips as a source of experiential learning was found to be an active pedagogy, as it raised students’ interest and motivation by actively engaging them in the process of learning. It was marked that children best learn to understand the elements of the story and bring in their creativity and imagination into their writings when they are given the opportunities to explore and inquire through using various sources like pictures and drawings in a natural setting. Therefore, through proper planning and adequate pre-instructions, field trip facilitates the teaching and learning of writing skills in an English language classroom.

Rights of Holy Prophet Muḥammad (P.B.U.H) have been studied from various perspectives. This paper reviewing the extant research on the subject; identifies the duties of government officials from the referred side. It concludes that Prophet Muḥammad (P.B.U.H) is the most benefactor and humanitarian to mankind in the word. In this context only those Govt. Officials can be considered true in their claim of love for Prophet Muḥammad (P.B.U.H) who adhere to his teachings, concerning ability of one’s position, piety, liability, morality and uprightness and those who refrain from being footloose and profligate, and free themselves from the hunger of wealth and status, censoriously evaluate their deeds, keep an eye on the life hereafter and accountability. Moreover, those who hold justice and avoid dishonesty and bias are true according to the teachings of Islam. Without such qualities and characteristics claim of love is just deceit and forgery.

Sino-Indian Quest for Hegemony in South Asia: Implications for Pakistan

The South Asian region attains great importance due to its strategic location and its close vicinity to the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf. China and India are major countries of this region with conflicting aspirations and incompatible goals. China has had differences with India on border issues and considers it as a potential adversary in her struggle for security, power, status and influence in the region. China has attained triumph in economic field and its GDP overstepped Japan, Germany and UK. It is becoming a significant part of the economic life for most states of the world. Moreover, China’s economic potency enabled it to connect to international economic structure, initiate relationships and established institutions which will potentially lead to a more China centric world economic order. In the military field, it holds advance military and strategic nuclear force and is making efforts to further advance and modernize these assets. India is making efforts for strengthening its economy and sophisticating its weaponry, but it is far behind China in many fields. Moreover, both countries are using various tools for expanding their power and influence in the region. However, this contest between the two South Asian giants offers many opportunities and present various challenges for Pakistan. The Pak-China alliance facilitates Pakistan to achieve economic development, to advance its military capabilities and to raise its dignity at the regional and global level. Moreover, strong Pak-China bonds will enable Beijing to limit India’s desire to rise as a regional giant, to increase her position against India and to counterbalance the Indo-US strategic partnership.
