This study aims to improve the teaching of writing narratives in an English language classroom. By using a qualitative method and a collaborative action research, the study was conducted in a private school in Karachi, Pakistan. In this study, the primary research participant was an English language teacher who was teaching English language at lower secondary level. There were five students who were the secondary research participants of the study. Their work was analyzed to see whether there was any improvement in their written narratives that was taught by both researcher and the research participant. In our English language classrooms, teaching of writing is done in a very traditional manner where teachers focus to product rather than the process of the writing. Teachers do not pay attention on writing and rewriting in order to improve the children's work. Mostly, the first draft of children's work is considered as final draft. Children encounter problems while writing because they are not provided with opportunities to develop their writing skills and they are often asked to write about topics which are not relevant to their lives. Thus, writing is best learnt in a natural setting with topics that are pertinent to their lives. Teachers need to provide a variety of experiences to children while teaching writing skills. The purpose of the study was to improve a teacher's teaching of writing narratives and to guide him/her to introduce above motioned strategy to make a shift from product to process of writing and thus, transform students into independent writers. For this study, reflective journal, observations and interviews were used to collect data. The teaching of writing narratives was found to be a useful activity as it builds practical and theoretical knowledge of the research participant. It was found that children best learnt to write when they are asked to write about topics that are relevant to their lives. Another observation was that the use of scenario to motivate children to write is less effective because it limits their creativity and they end up producing similar kind of texts. The use of writing frameworks and the steps of PA facilitate the teaching and learning of writing skills in an English language classroom. Furthermore, this study is significant for ELT in the context of Pakistan where writing, in English, is regarded as the most difficult skill among other teaching language skills. The finding of this study will

This paper deals with Shariah and Tariqat. The decrees of Shariah have two kinds. One is related to the body (which is visible) , while the other one is about the soul (in visible) . Shariah is a combination of visible and un visible decrees. Tariqat is not a separate entity, it is cm integral part of Shariah. The people who consider Tariqat as a separate entity-, as a matter offact they are misguided persons. Tariqat is nothing but a subservient to Shariah. For the purification ofsoul and to make one self abiding by the laws of Shariah, the Sufia have proposed some specific practices and activities for their followers. They asked their followers to strictly adhere to these practices. Not only for the followers hut also for the spiritual guides; it is incumbent on them to follow the rules ofShariah whether these are related to body or to the soul. Irrespective of the position of the spiritual guide, he should also abide by the laws ofShariah. His Sufipractices. supernatural events or miracles have no value and no acceptance to the Almighty - Allah. Tariqat must be under the rules of Shariah, other wise it will not be accep

Immobilization of Lignin Peroxidase from Schizophyllum Commune Ibl-06 by Using Different Immobilization Supports

The lignin degrading enzymes system of WRF has incredible catalytic property for oxidative bio-remediation of a lot of toxic contaminants and numerous other industrial applications. Immobilization facilitates the re-use of enzymes and making them industrially applicable and eco-nomical bio-catalysts. Schizophyllum commune IBL-06 was used for the production of lignin peroxidase (LiP) in pre-optimized solid state fermentation medium of corn stover. A high yield of LiP (1347.3 U/mL) was observed in crude extract. LiP was purified (5.65 folds) by a 4 steps protocol containing ammonium sulphate fractionation, dialysis, ion-exchange (DEAE-cellulose) and size exclusion chromatography. The 38 kDa single polypeptide S. commune IBL-06 LiP migrating as a single clear band on both native and SDS-PAGE gels. The purified enzyme was then immobilized on different support matrics such as chitosan, alginate, nylon membrane, PVA, agarose and PA gels with high immobilization efficiency and stability. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was performed for the verification of LiP attachment on support matrices. The maximum dye-decolorization (95.45%) potential was observed with chitosan and ca-alginate immobilized enzyme at 30°C without hemolytic toxicity. The chitosan beads-LiP retained approximately more than 70% activity after 3 frequent runs that gradually reduced to 35 % after 7th cycle of reusability. The immobilized LiP was found to show superior dye removal properties as compared to free LiP. Higher thermo stability, lower Km and high Vmax features of chitosan beads immobilizedLiP suggested its suitibility for variousbiotechnological and industrial applictaions.
