The importance of Early Childhood Education and Development (ECD) is well-recognized worldwide because it lays the foundation for lifelong learning and holistic development of a child. ECD focuses on providing opportunities for optimal development of children, including an emotionally safe and healthy environment, supporting interaction and relationship among stakeholders and stimulation. The holistic development of children in schools requires strong coordination amongst all stakeholders and the school leadership plays a key role in facilitating this coordination. This study intended to find out a head teacher's orientation to and practices of ECD in the context where ECD is relatively a new subject. To capture a comprehensive picture of the head teacher's understanding and leadership practices in relation to ECD, multiple methods within the qualitative research paradigm including semi-structured interviews, general observations, shadowing, focused group discussions and document analysis were used. Similarly, attempt was made to understand the head teacher's role through multiple layers of perspectives of ECD teachers, parents, students and the head teacher herself. The findings of the study captured different realms of the head teacher's role and practices in promoting ECD in the school. These included her role in the facilitation of children's learning and overall development, helping to develop appropriate curriculum, stimulating learning environment, and building partnerships with parents. Her strategies of showing positive behavior, being a role model, demonstrating visionary, collaborative and dynamic leadership were identified as fundamental aspects of effective leadership in early years in this particular context. The findings of the stud y may be useful to head teachers and teachers of ECD, parents, and policy makers. Since the role of the head teacher is directly associated with all the stakeholders of a school. Therefore, the study recommends that this aspect must be given more attention to further strengthen the needed capabilities of head teachers. This can ultimately improve the academic and social environment of early education setting.

A Research Review of the Hadith e Lawlāk

The importance and authenticity of the hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH) in the Muhammadan Ummah is an undisputed fact. A large number of Muḥaddithīn and imams spent their lives in collecting and editing the hadiths of the Prophet (PBUH) and compiled a collection of hadiths. These hadiths were classified according to their health and weakness. Due to the efforts of the imams, there are hadiths narrated from the Messenger of Allah on all sciences and knowledge and issues and rulings. Among them are Hadith Qudsī, Ma‘rūf, Mawkūf, Maktū‘, Saḥiḥ, Ḥasan Za‘īf and all other types of Hadith. The same Hadith e Qudsīyyah also includes a Hadith Lawlāk "لولاک" refers to those hadiths in which the Prophet ﷺ has been described as the cause of the creation of the universe and the origin of the universe. That is the hadith in which Allah Almighty has related the Prophet (PBUH) as the reason for creating the universe and its beings. However, the words of "Hadith e Lawlāk" The authenticity of the hadith has been made a subject of discussion. Some imams have declared this hadith to be weak and some have also said that it is valid. However, a large number of scholars have agreed on the authenticity of this hadith and the hadith has been declared correct in terms of meaning and has been recorded in the books of hadith, biographies and interpretations and other subject books. In the article under review, the sayings of Imams on the health and weakness of Hadith Lawlāk have been presented and research analysis of the said Hadith has been done through simulation and rational arguments.

Applications of Particle Swarm Optimization to Digital Communication

The whole class of evolutionary computing algorithms is inspired by the process of evolution in nature. Compared to the traditional optimization algorithms, a few striking features of these algorithms include their ability to address non-differentiable cost functions, robustness to the dynamically changing environment, and implementation on parallel machines. However, it was not until one and half decade ago, when these algorithms attracted researchers and got acknowledgement in terms of their application to the real world problems. The main reason behind this increased interest of the researchers owes to the ever increasing computing power. As a result evolutionary computing algorithms have been widely investigated and successfully applied for a number of problems belonging to diverse areas. In this dissertation the standard binary particle swarm optimization (PSO) and its soft version, namely soft PSO (SPSO) have been applied to four different problems of digital communication. Due to the exponentially growing computational complexity with the number of users in optimum maximum likelihood detector (OMLD), suboptimum techniques have received significant attention. We have proposed the SPSO for the multiuser detection (MUD) in synchronous as well as asynchronous multicarrier code division multiple access (MC- CDMA) systems. The performance of SPSO based MUD has been investigated to be near optimum, while its computational complexity is far less than OMLD. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) aided with radial basis functions (RBF) has been suggested to carry out multiuser detection (MUD) for synchronous direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) systems. The MUD problem has been taken as a pattern classification problem and radial basis functions have been used due to their excellent performance for pattern classification. The two variants of PSO have also been used in a joint manner for the task of the channel and data estimation based on the maximum likelihood principle. The PSO algorithm works at two different levels. At the upper level the continuous PSO estimates the channel, while at the lower level, the soft PSO detects the data. The simulation results have proved to be better than that of joint Genetic algorithm and Viterbi algorithm (GAVA) approach.
