The school leadership (principal, head teacher) plays a key role in the overall development of the school. Hence, strengthening home-school relationship (HSR) is also one of the major responsibilities of the school leaders. In order to explore how this role is played, the study was conducted to find out the answer of the question, what is the role of school leadership in enhancing home-school relationships in the school?' The research was conducted in the qualitative paradigm using a case study method at a community school in Karachi, Pakistan. In order to enhance home-school relationship, the practices carried out in the school are: parent-teacher meetings, individual meetings with parents, and general meetings with parents. Moreover, parents and teachers seem to be enthusiastic in sharing school matters in their informal interactions even in community gatherings. Beside these practices, school leadership takes many other initiatives. For example, it has started to share students' achievements with parents instead of always calling them to discuss issues. In addition, Headmaster and Section Heads have developed a web' by providing their mobile numbers to all the parents and responding to them whenever they call. The main conclusion of the study could be that school leadership has a vital role in the enhancement of home-school relationship, and it has created ways for the other stakeholders to play their roles in a friendly atmosphere. Parents and teachers realize their roles in relation to the development of the children, not only academically but also socially and morally.

فقہاء کی نظر میں عبادات میں اوقات مکروہہ اور ان کے اسباب و اثرات کا علمی جائزہ

For every worshipping, almighty Allah has appointed a specific time, same is the case with prayer (salat). But the following five appointed times for prayers are abhorrent: 1) At noon time. 2) At Sun set. 3) At Sun rise. 4) After Asar Prayer. 5) After the evening prayer. To offer prayer in the first three mentioned times, is not allowable in the views of Ahnaf. According to Imam Shaafi, Imam Malik and Imam Ahmad, obligatory prayer (salat) is permissible but not nafl prayer. Near to Imam Shaafi, in these forbidden timings, “NawaflZawat-ulAsbab” is legal and in Makkah every type of Nafl is also permissible. Even, during these timings, funeral prayer and sijdae-telawat is allowable with duress. There are different views regarding the last two forbidden times.

Isolation and Characterization of Cadmium Metallothionein Gene from Local Ciliates

First cadmium metallothionein like gene PMCd1 of a ciliate, Paramecium sp., isolated from indus- trial wastewater has been cloned and sequenced. PMCd1 is an intronless gene, encoding 612 nucleotides, with TAA coding for glutamine. The coding region of PMCd1 com- prises 203 amino acids, including 37 cysteine residues with a conserved structural pattern in the form of recurring structural motifs, arranged in 17 x-cys-x-y-cys-x, 1 x-cys- cys-x and x-cys-x contexts. Both, the deduced amino acids and nucleotide sequence differ, not only from other animal metallothioneins (MTs), but also from the previously characterized Tetrahymena Cu and Cd-MTs. The translated protein of PMCd1 contains conserved cysteine residues, peculiar characteristic of stress inducible metallothionein genes of ciliates and other groups of organisms.
