Introduction: Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS)is a potentially useful adjunct to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in thecharacterization of focal brain lesions. This study was aimed at showing that by the additional use of MRS (MRI, MRS), the characterization of a focal brain lesion into neoplastic, or non- neoplastic (infective, or degenerative) can be improved, as compared to the use of MRI alone. Study question: Does the additional use of MRS improve MRI differentiation of neoplastic from non- neoplastic (infective or degenerative) focal brain lesions? Methods: The design was prospective, analytical and comparative. 80 consecutive patients were enrolled. Conventional MRI of the brain was performed then a single voxel proton MRS spectrum was applied to a focal brain lesion. A similar MRS spectrum was subsequently acquired from the contra-lateral normal area of the brain, for comparison. The MRI examination, followed by the MRI, MRS examination was then interpreted by two consultant radiologists and a resident radiologist in consensus. Kappa measurement of agreement was used to determine the agreement between the MRI and MRI, MRS with the final diagnosis. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values and accuracy of the two tests were calculated. The difference between the number of indeterminate lesions in the two tests was noted. Logistic regression demonstrated the role of confounding factors in the diagnostic use of MRS. Results: Of the eighty patients initially recruited, seventy four (92.5%) were analyzed, and six were lost to follow- up. According to the final diagnosis, 33% of the lesions were infections, 29% neoplastic, 37% degenerative and, 1% were indeterminate. On the basis of the kappa analysis, MRI, MRS had an increase in agreement of 7.4% compared to MRI and the confidence levels of the two tests did not overlap. The sensitivity of MRI, MRS was 4.82 times greater than that of MRI. MRI, MRS had a 1.7% increase in accuracy. The combined test reduced the indeterminate MRI lesions by 5.4%. Logistic regression showed that for lesions which were enhancing, MRS yield was more helpful if the voxel position included the enhancing part. Conclusion: The additional use of single voxel MRS improves the MRI characterization of neoplastic from non- neoplastic (infectious or degenerative) focal brain lesions. It is most useful as an additional protocol to conventional MRI in the characterization of neoplastic from non- neoplastic brain lesions.

The Muslim nation shows great diversity in many ways: Ethnical, lingual, tribal, racial, colour, cultural, etc. Nevertheless, such differences have never been supposed to impede their way to their unity. The Muslim nation has far more reasons and mutual foundations to be united. But unfortunately, the Muslim history witnesses squabbles and skirmishes between different sects of this otherwise one Ummah. These disputes led us to the recesses of ignorance and intolerance, which in turn left us lagging behind the world and advancement, and now, we are called the third world, which is not an honour any way. We need to work on the similarities between different sects of the Muslim nation and let them learn how to live together keeping their differences. So that they may get united. All the Muslims sects fundamentally believe in the same set of beliefs, practices, and rituals. The differences in these areas are the differences of diversity and extensions, not of contradiction. This diversity is the beauty of deliberation and discussion, hence a reason for knowledge to grow, it should not be a matter of contentions. We need to highlight the mutual common grounds of Islamic beliefs and religiosity among the sects to unite this nation. We need to teach how to tolerate and respect each other with difference of opinions. We should encourage constructive dialogues between the Muslims sects and let them understand point of views of each other and thus remove the misconception about; each other. We should curb the contentious and discordant voices and build up an atmosphere where a healthy, tolerant and heterogeneous society may emerge and pave the way to Muslim unity and thence to success in this life and the life to come after death. In this perspective, the author of his present study explores to find the teachings and guidance of Islam. This is the theme of the present study.

Improved Accelerated Systems, Applications and Products Asap Methodology for Enterprise Resource Planning Erp Implementation

The organizations are using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to run the business, services, human resources, and manages back-office workflow. ERP system is dynamic, complex, larger in nature and used for the implementation of technological and organizational interactions. In ERP implementation, two types of approaches are used including Big bang approach (traditional) and Agile approach. ASAP is a form of Big bang approach of software development, which highly focuses on documentation, more suitable for stable requirements and difficult to manage change. ASAP methodology works in phases including Project Preparation, Business Blueprint, Realization, Final Preparation and Go live and Support. Business blueprint is a critical phase where business requirements are analyzed and documented in AS-IS process. During the AS-IS process users provide the requirements and vendor map these requirements in TO-BE with the help of IT experts. At start, lack of the domain understanding of the end user may lead to vague and incomplete requirements. This situation creates deadlock between the user and vendor which delays the process, increase the cost and disturb the schedule. Moreover, due to the conventional nature of ASAP methodology, it becomes difficult to manage change at later stages of software development. SCRUM, being one of the major forms of Agile, provides support for change acceptance during and after development. SCRUM also provides practices for better requirements management at different stages of development. We have proposed an improved and hybrid methodology which will ensure the correctness of requirements capture. For this, we have investigated the issues attached with the ASAP methodology due to which, vague and incomplete requirements are generated. We have introduced suitable practices of Scrum to minimize the shortcomings of conventional ASAP methodology. The proposed solution has been validated using case study of GEPCO (Gujranwala Electric Power Company) ERP project. This case study has compared the productivity and defect occurrence in Blueprint phase using conventional ASAP and Hybrid ASAP methodology.
