The Impact of the Curriculum of Islamic Studies on Character Building of Students at Secondary and Higher Secondary Level in Punjab, a Survey Study
Islam gives the idea of collective life and tries for humanity development. The basic idea of the teaching of Islam is that the individual must be true and active worker of society. He must have moral values and principles clearly. And he tries constantly that a Muslim should performed saying of Allah and human rights properly. In this way Islam tries to work on behavior, morality and habits of people and tries his best to properly enhance the different aspects of personality. For this the life of Prophet Muhammadﷺ is complete code of life. The good characteristics of Muslims which are considered praise worthy that are truth, brotherhood, justice, forgiveness, oneness of Allah and keepings. In the same way the things which are condemned by Islam are bride, misery, theft, backbiting, telling lies, blaming others, self-centeredness, close vision, dishonesty, garrulous, greediness, showiness manners, jealousy,un-obligation, clashes, hatred and etc. The philosophy of character building and personality development in Islam is the Muslim should avoid all bad works and develops good qualities in him as discussed before so that a Muslim should be very useful and pious citizen of the society. And we all know that education is a tool of change. So education is worthless if it does not create change in the minds of people and society. And also it is useless if it does not build the moral character regarding personality development of the students. Islam tells us all about the values which are fruitful for humanity and are beneficial of human beings. For this purpose, it is necessary that we should give awareness of Islamic values to the people through education. It is only possible if the textbooks are designed according to the Islamic concept and values as well as teachers and parents play their effective role in the development of personality of their children. Pakistan is a Muslim country and has its own religious, moral, political and social values and being a Muslim through an effective educational system we can transfer these values to our new generation. For this purpose our curriculum is playing key role for the development and character building of the students or not was the main question so that this research was made. In this research the questionnaire were developed by keeping in view the objectives and aims of the current curriculum of Islamic Studies of 2009 and also following the Quranic verses and Hadith. In this study it was judged whether it was building characters of students or not. Further the effect of syllabus of Islamic Studies was judged on students that is taught in secondary and higher secondary level. For this purpose in the first chapter briefly introduction has been given regarding background of the study, Islamic concept of values, statement of the problem, objectives and significance of the study. In the second vii chapter review of related material has been given. In which curriculum, character building, character building in Islam, history of Islamic Studies, the need of Islamic Education in the development of personality, consideration of Islamic Values in the Educational System of Pakistan is discussed in detail. After that review of the Islamiat (Islamic Studies) Compulsory for the Classes of 9th and 10th, Islamiat (Islamic Studies) Elective for the Classes of 9th and 10th, review of the books of Islamic Studies of intermediate and review of Ph.D. Thesis which is already written is discussed in detailed. In the third chapter Research Methodology has been discussed in detailed keeping in view the design of the study, population of the study, sample of the study, Research Instruments, validation of Questionnaires, data Collection, data analysis and research ethics. In the fourth chapter data analysis has been made by using SPSS software and all the results of teachers, students and parents has been discussed. After that at the end fifth chapter has been given in which summary, findings, discussion, conclusions and recommendations has been given in the light of forth chapter.

The present study aims at exploring positive psychological capital in the verses of Qur’an. Positive psychology is the latest advancement in the field of psychology which focuses on improving the well-being of society. Positive psychological capital refers to the combination of overall qualities of positive psychology that contributes to the well-being and mental health. The present study is based on the content analysis of the verses of Qur’an. Content analysis comprises of three steps including identifying the categories or themes, dividing the information into units or parts and finally rating all the themes in all units. In the first step the researchers identified 41 themes from Qur’an by using committee approach and reading the verses between the lines. All these categories were identified by keeping in view the underlying themes of positive psychology. In the second step 30 units were devised from Qur’an by considering each Part as a single unit. The categories included behavior modification, belief in divine help, brotherhood, bravery, contentment, civility, credibility, encouragement of virtue, emotional regulation, excellence, forgiveness, generosity, gratitude, honesty, hopefulness, humility, justice, knowledge, lawful spending, learning, meaningfulness, mindfulness, moderation, obedience, patience, peace, determination, positivity, prosperity, repentance, resilience, reward, self-actualization, self-awareness, self-control, sincerity, social leadership, truthfulness, trust, and wisdom. Results suggest that the most prominent category in Qur’an is the reward. Validity of the study was maintained through the selection of the themes with the help of committee approach. Reliability of the scoring system was maintained through partial inter-rater reliability. Overall the present research has many implications in the positive psychology of religion.
The purpose of the present research is to investigate the spin and recovery characteristics of a high performance fighter configuration that exhibits yawing moment asymmetry at high angles of attack. High fidelity aerodynamic model, in a look-up-tables form, is developed using experimental data from static, coning, and oscillatory coning rotary balance wind tunnel tests. As a first step, all the possible steady spin modes, along with their sensitivity to control settings, are predicted from the aircraft flight dynamic model. Influence of high alpha yawing moment asymmetry on the spin recovery characteristics is inferred from the spin equilibria plots. Results from dynamical systems theory are applied to determine local stability characteristics of aircraft around steady spin states. The complete set of dynamic modes of aircraft in spin is evaluated and mode content in each of the motion variable is determined using modal decomposition. Investigation of dynamic characteristics of predicted spin modes is performed using six degrees-of-freedom time history simulations which showed that both, right and left flat spins are oscillatory and divergent. Standard spin recovery piloting strategies are investigated by performing numerical simulations of flat spins in open-loop configuration. Numerical simulations show that for fighter configuration with high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry, same spin recovery strategies when applied to left and right flat spins produce contradicting results. The proposed spin recovery strategies effectively reduced the recovery time for left flat spins. However, aircraft''s inherent tendency to yaw towards right due to high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry renders proposed spin recovery strategies ineffective in accelerating recovery of right flat spins. Performance of a gain scheduled flight control law in automatic spin recovery is also evaluated by performing numerical simulations of left and right flat spins in closed-loop configuration. The control law also reduces the recovery time of the left flat spins but is ineffective in aiding the recovery of the right flat spins. Simulations in closed loop configuration show that the large amplitude oscillations in angle of attack and sideslip, observed in open-loop configuration, are significantly damped by the flight control law.
