Role of Institutions and Economic Variables on Tax Revenue of Selected Asian Developing Countries Tax revenue is an important factor to finance different sectors of any country. The role of institutional and economic factors is considered to be most influencing to generate more revenue for a country through taxes. This study explores the positive and significant relationship between institutional factor and tax revenue of seven Asian developing countries such as Pakistan. India, China, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Indonesia and Thailand for the period of 1996-2014. To examine the existence of long run relation among variables Pedroni (1999, 2004) and Kao panel cointegration technique have been used and after confirmation of long run relation among variables Fully Modified Ordinary Least Square (FMOLS) has been applied to attain long run elasticities of the variables. Further Engle and Granger (1987) test has applied to check the direction or way of causation between these two variables. The results of this study show that there is long run and positive relationship between Institutions and Tax revenue. Fair and transparent governing system, effective rule of law, control of corruption in tax collecting authorities tremendously increase the tax revenue of the country. Furthermore among economic trade (as a percentage of GDP) and inflation are positively affecting the tax revenue whereas agriculture share in GDP is negatively affecting the tax revenue. All the Coefficients through FMOLS are statistically significant and explaining the long run changes in tax revenue. Moreover these results suggest that institutional factors have a major role in tax revenue. The findings of this study have some important implications such as simplifying rules on tax payment, internal audit of tax administration, provision of incentives to tax administration staff to overcome the corruption problem are given that provide a road map to increase the tax revenue in of Selected Asian developing countries.

Foreign Exchange trading is when you buy and sell foreign currencies to generate profit. In our age of advance technology even the virtual or digital currencies have now emerged. This entire business however is mostly based upon speculation and prediction. Even the most skilled and experienced traders face difficulty in predicting movements in currencies. Further, the value of not well established currencies can fluctuate or its exchange rate value can change any time. In view of occupying central place in the economic systems down the ages, Muslim scholars have also vehemently discussed currency, its significanc and matters relating to it in transactions. The present article reviews trading of foreign currencies from Islamic perspective in a situation when no cash is involved in the transaction. The article concludes that as the currencies in such transactions are different commodities, therefore their trade is legal.

Effect of the Eclectic Apporach of Teaching on English Grammar at Elementary Level and Students Attitude Towards the Approach

This experimental study was conducted to look into the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on English grammar at Elementary Level and students’ attitude towards the Approach. The objectives of the study were: (i) To explore the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on English grammar; (ii) To delve into the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on vocabulary; (iii) To investigate the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on pronunciation; (iv) To look into the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on communication skills − listening, speaking, reading and writing; (v) To examine the effect of the Eclectic Approach of teaching on students’ retention; and (vi) To measure the attitude of the students towards the Eclectic Approach. Fifty six (56) male students studying English in 8th class at Government High School, Mian Banda, Timergara, Dir Lower, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were taken as a sample of the study. The study was conducted through Pre-test Post-test Equivalent Group Design. Two groups that is experimental group and control group were formed on the basis of the results of the pre-test by using pair random sampling technique. Each group consisted of twenty eight (28) students. The randomly selected control group was provided routine treatment, while the experimental group was taught through the Eclectic Approach. The experiment lasted for a period of six weeks. Data were collected through teacher-made pre-test, post-test, retention test and attitude scale. The collected data were analyzed through t-test. The results and findings of the data showed that the experimental group showed better results than the control group and the attitude of the experimental group towards the Eclectic Approach was positive. Keeping in view the encouraging results of this study, it is recommended that the Eclectic Approach of teaching should be implemented at all levels of education.
