Impact of Teachers 'Professionalism on University Students' Emotional Stability and Social Competence Purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of teachers' professionalism on students' Emotional Stability and Social Competence in the context of private and public sector universities. The major objectives of this study were to measure the Professionalism among university teachers, to measure the impact of teachers' professionalism on the social competence of university students, to measure the impact of teachers' professionalism on the Emotional Stability of university students, to weigh the impact of demographic variables, such as Gender, Age, Socio economic status, Qualification, Experience, Class size in determining the teachers' of professionalism and students' emotional stabilities and social competencies. For this purpose a stratified random sample of 300 respondents was collected from two distinct groups of the population, such as university teachers and students of 6 private and public sector universities located at Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Data was collected from both male and female respondents (University teachers and university students). The findings of the study revealed that there is positive relationship between teacher's professionalism and students' emotional stability and social competence. Results revealed that teachers' demographic variations, effects on their professionalism, along with these students' demographic variations are also playing a vital role in determining their emotional stabilities and social competence. Results also confirmed that male university students are more emotionally stable and socially competent than female university students. At present in the context of private and public sector universities there is a need to groom teachers because a considerable number of teachers are exhibiting immaturity or demonstrating moderately professional conducts in teaching learning context. Therefore, there is a need to create the awareness among teachers about their professional responsibilities. It is recommended that teachers may provide awareness about general teaching standards set by Higher Education Commission. It is also recommended that university teachers may also learn art of emotional stability and may also demonstrate it in front of their students. This research will be helpful for university teachers and administrators because it has provided us information to improve teachers' behavior at work. Careful planned teaching strategies and classroom management strategies affect students emotional and social grooming. Learning of socially approved behavior surely led students towards successful life. Study will also helpful for educational managers because of their role of planning and organizing organizational activities in more dynamic way which may lead their employees toward professionalism. This study will also helpful for the parents to understand the impact of environment in nurturing balanced personality pattern and behavior responses in children. Investigation of Microstructure and Stress Corrosion Cracking in Al-6061-T6 Alloy at Different Loads

Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) refers to the damage of mechanical components which are under the combined action of static load and corrosive environment. This phenomenon occurs in various applications including naval and aerospace industry where aluminum and steel alloys experience mechanical loadings in the presence of corrosive environments. In this research work, microstructural and environmental influence on corrosion behavior of Al-6061-T6 at different static loads was investigated. A new test fixture was developed for stress corrosion cracking. Dog-bone shaped tensile specimens of Al-6061-T6 were manufactured using CNC milling machine. Tests were conducted at constant loads of 200 N, 500 N and 800 N, in three different environments: dry ambient conditions, distilled water and 3.5% NaCl solution. Testing continued for different intervals of time i.e. 96 hours, 68 hours and 4.5 hours respectively. After each set of experiments, specimens were observed for cracks using metallurgical microscope. Detailed fractographic investigation of all the tested specimens was carried out using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Excessive corrosion and material degradation was observed in specimens tested in distilled water and 3.5% NaCl environments. Microstructural analysis depicted pitting corrosion and crack deformation.  Some regions clearly showed that grain boundaries were attacked due to oxidation and chemical attack causing weakening of grain boundaries and resulted into intergranular corrosion. Precipitates and grain boundaries in Al-6061-T6 served as a reason of crack initiation due to hydrogen diffusion. Fractographic investigation provided the evidence of trans granular fracture as well as intergranular fracture which was observed as dimples and extensive ductile tearing.

Morphogenetic Characterization of Wheat Germplasm for Drought Tolerance

Drought is the main environmental problem that causes high negative effect on cereals crops particularly wheat. It is a great challenge for crop breeders to produce cultivars having good potential of survival in drought stress environment. In the present research one hundred and three Wheat genotypes were evaluated for drought stress. On the basis of morphological traits, genotype 010718 ranked first on the basis of days to maturity (DM), 010771 showed highest number of tillers per plant (NTP), 010817 has highest spike length (SL), 010814 has highest peduncle length (PL), 010813 has greatest number of spikelets per spike (NSPS), 010874 has highest 1000 grain weight (GW), 010874 have highest harvest index (HI) and 010822 showed optimum plant height (PH). These genotypes could be used for further breeding programs to improve wheat production under drought stress conditions of Pakistan. The same genotypes were also evaluated for physiological tests including relative water content normal (RWCN), relative water content stress (RWCS), water loss rate normal (WLRN), water loss rate stress (WLRS) and water use efficiency (WUE) under both normal and drought stress regimes. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) results concluded that highly significant differences were found among the genotypes in both normal and drought stress. 010824 recorded the highest RWC in normal while 010809 recorded the highest relative water content (RWC) in drought stress conditions. 010808 and 010808 was ranked first on the basis of water loss rate normal (WLRN) and water loss rate stress (WLRS) while 010831 was ranked first in water use efficiency (WUE) test. These genotypes may be suggested for further cultivation in irrigated and rainfed areas of Pakistan. In the present study thirteen root traits were evaluated for drought tolerance. All root traits showed significant differences among the genotypes at (P≤0.01). 010842, 011862, 010853, 010829 and 011881 ranked first on the basis of root traits and considered to be best for drought stress areas of Pakistan. All the genotypes were screened with 105 SSR markers. Most of the markers showed high level of polymorphism. Total of 279 polymorphic alleles generated. The alleles per locus ranged from 1-3 and an average of 2.63 per locus. Polymorphic information content (PIC) values of the markers was calculated in the range of 0.00–0.59. The association analysis revealed that one hundred and three genotypes having different genetic background were classified into fifteen distinct groups. Total of 08 MTAs were recorded for root traits in GLM and MLM models. The genetic information obtained in the present study in the form of MTAs/QTLs could be utilized for breeding programs to improve drought stress tolerance.
