The progress of a nation depends upon quality of education .The quality of education is based on faculty at the university level. For achieving the quality education, professional development is an essential component. It is concerned with the creation of knowledge, utilization of knowledge and skills. The main concern of this study was to explore the situation about professional development of university teachers in Pakistan pertaining to (a) quality improvement initiative by teachers to do research on teaching (b) adoption of innovative methods of instructions (c) diversified student population which is not satisfied by the uniform teaching methods /styles. Moreover the study was aimed to provide a guideline for the training of teachers so that existing deficiencies can be removed through quality teaching methods/models. Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken various encouraging steps for the training of teachers. But before 2000 the training of teachers at university level was not given due focus for one or other reasons .The teachers in higher education organizations carry two functions i.e. research and teaching. This study covers only one- aspect i.e. Pedagogical skills of teachers. There are various models of teacher training and some of them have been discussed in the study. Each of them has its own strengths and weaknesses but benefit can be taken from these models. The models have been analyzed in order to check feasibility for quality teaching at university level. The quality of higher education is related with the competency of academic staff. In order to enhance the quality of teaching staff, there is an acute need to arrange the concurrent training session for teachers. With the creation of knowledge, abrupt changes are taking place which results into continuous changes of curriculum. To update the knowledge of teachers in relation to modified curriculum and enhance pedagogical skills, training is required. Although various incentives have been given to the university teachers by the HEC to enhance the quality of learning and teaching at higher education but there is a need to further strengthen the training programmes. Teacher training is one of the key issues of developing countries. Higher quality of training leads to improve the students learning in addition to enhance the performance of teachers. On the basis of the reviewing of literature a model of training on quality enhancement of university teachers has been developed.

الشعر في ميزان القرآن الحكيم

The Holy Qur’ān is said to be a book neither in poetry nor in prose; yet it has a unique rhyme with a metrical system peculiar to it. The science of prosody and metrics, which is linked directly to poetry with its two characteristics of meter and rhyme, is based on the inductive study of the formal qualities of the Arabic poetry. The Holy Qur’ān, though not a book of poetry, is far away from the stylistics of prosaic speech in the sense since the terminal-end points of the ayaths (verses) of its each and every surah are rhythmic and follow a metrical system of its own, which phenomenon is significant from the view- point of the science of prosody and metrics. Given this, each and every Surah of Qur’ān has a distinct quality whereby it can be recognized and differentiated from every other surah. Both Islam and the Qur’ān have abstained from going to the extent of putting an end to poetic genius; rather they have encouraged it differentiating good poetry meant for the cause of spreading Islamic message from the bad one that stands against the message of Islam.  As regards the Qur’ān, its each and every Surah is dominated by multi-dimensional musical rhythms in synchrony with the total climate of its verses, which makes the listener spell-bound, and which plays an essential function so characteristic of the science of eloquent rhetoric.

Analysis of Spin and Recovery Characteristics of Multirole Fighter Aircraft.

The purpose of the present research is to investigate the spin and recovery characteristics of a high performance fighter configuration that exhibits yawing moment asymmetry at high angles of attack. High fidelity aerodynamic model, in a look-up-tables form, is developed using experimental data from static, coning, and oscillatory coning rotary balance wind tunnel tests. As a first step, all the possible steady spin modes, along with their sensitivity to control settings, are predicted from the aircraft flight dynamic model. Influence of high alpha yawing moment asymmetry on the spin recovery characteristics is inferred from the spin equilibria plots. Results from dynamical systems theory are applied to determine local stability characteristics of aircraft around steady spin states. The complete set of dynamic modes of aircraft in spin is evaluated and mode content in each of the motion variable is determined using modal decomposition. Investigation of dynamic characteristics of predicted spin modes is performed using six degrees-of-freedom time history simulations which showed that both, right and left flat spins are oscillatory and divergent. Standard spin recovery piloting strategies are investigated by performing numerical simulations of flat spins in open-loop configuration. Numerical simulations show that for fighter configuration with high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry, same spin recovery strategies when applied to left and right flat spins produce contradicting results. The proposed spin recovery strategies effectively reduced the recovery time for left flat spins. However, aircraft''s inherent tendency to yaw towards right due to high-alpha yawing moment asymmetry renders proposed spin recovery strategies ineffective in accelerating recovery of right flat spins. Performance of a gain scheduled flight control law in automatic spin recovery is also evaluated by performing numerical simulations of left and right flat spins in closed-loop configuration. The control law also reduces the recovery time of the left flat spins but is ineffective in aiding the recovery of the right flat spins. Simulations in closed loop configuration show that the large amplitude oscillations in angle of attack and sideslip, observed in open-loop configuration, are significantly damped by the flight control law.
