The thesis also examines the impact of performance appraisal purposes on job satisfaction, employees' commitment, and organizational performance including both financial and non-financial performance, while taking job satisfaction and employees' organizational commitment as mediators. The sample size of this study is 391 employees, which is calculated by applying Yamane'sformula, and convenient sampling method is used for survey because it is not easy to access all the population and all population is not relevant 400000000. The questionnaire is developed for data collection based on five point Likert scale after critically reviewing literature, specifically, the studies including: Nyaoga et al. (2010); Ali et al. (2010); and Moulder, (2001). A pilot study was conducted to check the validity and reliability of the instrument. Structural equations modeling analysis through AMOS version 21 is applied to examine the impact of performance appraisal purposes on job satisfaction, employees'organizational commitment, and organizational performance, and impact of job satisfaction and employees' organizational commitment on organizational performance. Path analysis through AMOS version 21 is used to explore the mediation effect of job satisfaction and employees' organizational commitment between performance appraisal purposes and organizational performance. The study concludes that: (a) Employees at NBP ranked performance appraisal as a necessary tool for promotion, renewal of service contract, training, finding suitable employee for new assignment, counseling and redevelopment of employees, rewards, discipline, motivation, and transfer of employees; (b) Employees at NBP ranked awareness of performance appraisal system as aware-off with goals of performance appraisal system, aware-off with linkages of performance appraisal system with objectives of organization, and aware-off with purposes of performance appraisal system; (c) Employees at NBP ranked effectiveness criteria of performance appraisal system as employee's contribution is properly assessed, assessment matches with employee's expectation, transparency is maintained, and performance appraisal system is according to the employee's satisfaction level; (d) Employee at NBP ranked detriments to effective performance appraisal system as organizational politics, emotional distress, reluctance of raters to offer feedback, inconsistencies in setting and applying appraisal criteria, rewards on non-performance, performance of targeted employees, and subjectivity of performance appraisal system; (e) Performance appraisal purposes have highly significant positive impact on job satisfaction, employees' organizational commitment, financial performance, and non-financial performance; (f) Job satisfaction of employees has highly significant positive impact on financial performance, and non-financial performance; (g) Employees organizational commitment has insignificant negative impact on financial performance, and non-financial performance; and (h) Financial performance will go up by 0.046 while mediating job satisfaction between performance appraisal purposes and financial performance, financial performance will go up by 0.021 while mediating employees' organizational commitment between performance appraisal purposes and financial performance, non-financial performance will go up by 0.068 while mediating job satisfaction between performance appraisal purposes and non-financial performance, and non-financial performance will go up by 0.035 while mediating employees' organizational commitment between performance appraisal purposes and non-financial performance of National Bank of Pakistan. This research study is very important for all banks and especially for National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).

Just as the prophet  and messenger from Allah Ta’ala direct man towards the creator, it also regulates the relationships of human life and helps him to return to the nature of Allah Ta’ala, which invites man to find goodness, happiness and well-being in creatures. We invite all researchers and intellectuals to know the facts of heavenly laws and religions, especially the teachings of  “Islam”. Since Islam is the essence of all divine religions, it deals with human life in particular and the universe in general and the life of nature around it in great detail, just as Islam focuses on Human beings. In the same way animals, plants and inanimate objects are also looked after otherwise what is the meaning of talking about issues related to tree planting, agriculture, water and other natural environment.  Human distance and ignorance from the role of religions on environmental protection is an important cause of environmental pollution, protection and its elements to restore. The religious teachings and spiritual guidance of all heavenly religious regarding  environmental protection can play an important role in the protection can play an important role in the protection of the environment, so the cause of the  environmental crisis and the invasion of its resources is a departure from spirituality and religious instructions and materialism. For example, those materialistic countries that do not believe in religions are engaged in destroying the ecological elements. Just so that they can get material facilities. They have become involved in wars and conflicts all of which they have been exposed to environmental disasters are which has never been observed by humanity in the history due to which these countries are suffering from environmental crisis on a large scale due to which it has become difficult to live in these countries.

Evaluation of Biofertilizer for Chickpea-Maize Cropping System in Southern Punjab, Pakistan

Different biotic and abiotic factors limit the plant productivity. Among them, water deficit is most common. It seriously affects the plant physiology, biochemistry and yield. In the southern Punjab region, due to unfavorable environmental conditions, there is severe shortage of water which hampering the crop yield. To ameliorate the effect of water deficit different approaches can be adopted. The most economical and simplest approach is the use of biofertilizer along with the organic sources in chickpea-maize cropping system. Cropping system is important for improving soil health and crop yield as well. A legume has the ability to fix nitrogen by symbiotic relationship with microbe. It helps to maintain soil fertility and organic matter. In chickpea-maize cropping system, chickpea increased the N nutrition of cereal crop can enhanced because the N transfers from the chickpea to the cereal. Chickpea is able to take much of its nitrogen requirement from the atmosphere by forming a symbiotic association with soil bacteria called rhizobium, and thus does not need much fertilizer. Maize is the third major cereal crop and chickpea is an important dietary protein for the rural poor people of the world likewise Pakistan, Combined cropping system of chickpea-maize show a considerable promise in better productivity and help to reverse the decline in soil fertility. Biofertilizer have the potential to mitigate the effect of water deficit stress on growth and yield of chickpea and maize in natural conditions of Southern Punjab through a number of direct and indirect mechanisms. Keeping in view the above said problem, the present study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of biofertilizers for improving the productivity and profitability in chickpea-maize cropping system in southern Punjab. For this purpose already prepared biofertilizer (Rhizogold), Rock phosphate enriched compost and biogas slurry was taken. Rock phosphate enriched compost & biogas slurry were analyzed for various physicochemical properties in the laboratory. Biofertilizer were tested for bacterial population. A series of wire-house and field experiments were conducted for the evaluation of biofertilizer for chickpea-maize cropping system in South Punjab, Pakistan. The pot experiments were conducted to evaluate biofertilizer for improving growth, yield and quality of chickpea and maize crops following chickpea – maize cropping system. For the confirmation of results of pot trials, the field experiments were conducted following the chickpea-maize cropping system on permanent layout. Results of the pot trial showed that combined application of biofertilizer and biogas slurry gave significantly better results and improved grain yield up to 40 and 14% in chickpea and maize, respectively, as compared to control. While, in field trial I and II, the combined application of biofertilizer with biogas slurry showed maximum increase up to 39 and 32%, respectively, in grain yield of chickpea as compared to control. In both the field trials of maize, combined application of biofertilizer and biogas slurry showed maximum grain yield. The combined use of biofertilizer and biogas slurry also significantly improved the nitrogen concentration in soil and soil bacterial population after crop harvest. Biofertilizer also improved the profitability of the chickpea – maize cropping system as shown by the economic analyses of the results. So, it is concluded that use of biofertilizer can be effective in improving soil health and crop yield in chickpea-maize cropping system however its combined use with enriched compost and biogas slurry can be cost effective, economical and more efficient in improving the water and fertilizer use efficiency, microbial community and soil health in water stress area of South Punjab Pakistan.
