گزشتہ ماہ علامہ شیح عبدالعزیز بن عبدﷲ بن باز نے ۸۸ برس کی عمر میں داعی اجل کو لبیک کہا، انا ﷲوانا الیہ راجعون۔ وہ مملکت سعودیہ کے جلیل القدر عالم، مفتی اعظم، علمائے کبار کی سپریم کونسل نیز دارالافتاء اور مجلس بحوث علمیہ کے سربراہ رابطہ عالم اسلامی، الجمع الفقہی الاسلامی اور اس نوع کی متعدد عالمی سطح کی علمی و تحقیقی، دعوتی اور فلاحی انجمنوں اور اداروں کے اساسی رکن تھے۔ دارالمصنفین میں شیخ کی وفات کی خبر بڑے رنج و غم سے سنی گئی اور تغریت کے لیے برقیہ بھی بھیجا گیا۔
شیخ عبدالعزیز بن باز کتاب و سنت کے متبحر عالم، تقویٰ و طہارت، ﷲیت اور سادگی اور خلوص و خدمت کا مجسم پیکر تھے، ان کی وفات دنیائے اسلام کا بڑا سانحہ ہے اس سے پیدا ہونے والا خلا پُر نہیں ہوسکتا۔ ولکنہ بنیان قوم تھدما۔
شیخ ابن باز نہایت کم عمری میں آنکھوں کی بصارت سے محروم ہوگئے، مگر اپنی غیر معمولی علمی و فقہی بصیرت کی بنا پر مملکت سعودیہ کے اہم مذہبی مناصب پر فائز ہوئے الجامعتہ الاسلامیہ ( مدینہ یونیورسٹی) کے پہلے وائس چانسلر کی حیثیت سے ان کا انتخاب ہوا۔ مملکت کے مفتی عالم شیخ محمد ابراہیم کے انتقال کے بعد ان کے جانشین مقرر ہوئے۔
مملکت سعودیہ میں ان کو غیر معمولی عزت و احترام حاصل تھا، سربراہان مملکت بھی ان کے ساتھ نہایت عزت و تکریم کے ساتھ پیش آتے۔ ان کے جنازہ میں فرماں روائے مملکت شاہ فہد، اعیان مملکت اور شاہی خانوادہ کے علاوہ لاکھوں افراد نے شرکت کی۔

HUBUNGAN ANTARA EFIKASI DIRI DAN PERAN GURU DENGAN BELAJAR BERDASAR REGULASI DIRI PADA AKSELERAN

This research is a quantitative approach with the aim at knowing: (1). The relationship between self-efficacy and the role of the teacher by learning based on self-regulation. (2). The contribution given by self-efficacy and the role of teachers in self-regulation based learning. (3). Levels of self-efficacy and the role of teachers in learning based on self-regulation. The subject of this study was acceleration in one of the Public High Schools in Surakarta as many as 115 people. This study is a principled study on population studies. Based on the results and analysis using multiple regression it is known that the correlation coefficient R = 0.375 (p = 0.000: p <0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and the role of teachers with self-regulation. The total contribution given by the two independent variables in this study amounted to 14.1%, and for both categorizations the independent variables namely self-efficacy and the role of the teacher were at a high level, and the dependent variable of learning based on self-regulation was at a very high level. Chemical Composition and Biological Antioxidant and Antimicrobial Activities of Essential Oils from Selected Plants of Pothohar Plateau

Essential oils of different medicinal and aromatic plants have been potential candidates as source of food preservation, pharmaceuticals, alternative medicines and natural therapies in addition to their pharmacological properties like hepatoprotective, carminative, anticarcinogenic and antiviral effects. In present study some selected plants from Pothohar plateau were collected and subjected to essential oil extraction by hydrodistillation followed by assessment of their physical parameters like color, specific gravity, % yield etc and their biological activities including antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic attributes. The oils were then characterized by using GC and GC-MS techniques to find the chemical constituents. Overall the examined oils exhibited good antioxidant and antimicrobial behavior. To the best of our knowledge the essential oil of Parthenium hysterophorus has never been reported with regard to its composition as well as biological activities before present study. In general, Trachyspermum ammi and Cuminum cyminum essential oils showed significant activity in most of the assays performed in this study. Both showed remarkable potential for scavenging of DPPH free radical with IC50 values 2.61and 16.86 μg/mL, respectively and inhibited linoleic acid by 80.73 and 79.36% respectively. For T. ammi most sensitive bacterium was Streptococcus mutans (Inhibition zone=19.7mm; MIC=1.41 mg/mL) and fungus was Ganoderma lucidum (Inhibition zone=17.0mm; MIC=1.72 mg/mL) while for C. cyminum most sensitive bacterium was Bacillus subtilis (Inhibition zone=27.3mm; MIC=1.10 mg/mL) and fungus was Ganoderma lucidum (Inhibition zone=27.0mm; MIC=1.40 mg/mL). Both T. ammi and C. cyminum exhibited minimum hemolysis of human erythrocytes i.e. 7.98 and 4.51% respectively at 0.5 mg/mL concentration. GC-MS analysis revealed that thymol (37.75%) was the major component of T. ammi essential oil while cumaldehyde (24.10%) in C. cyminum essential oil. All the experiments were done in triplicate and mean ± S.D. was calculated.
