58. Al-Mujadilah/The Pleading Woman

58. Al-Mujadilah/The Pleading Woman

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

58:01
a. Allah has heard the woman who was pleading with you, concerning the issue of her husband, and was complaining to Allah.
b. And Allah was hearing the conversation between you.
c. For Allah is All-Listening, All-Watching.

58:02
a. Those among you who estrange their women/wives by declaring them to be as their mothers;
b. should know that they can never be made as their mothers, for their mothers are only those who gave birth to them.
c. Indeed, they utter what is highly contemptuous, baseless and false.
d. Yet, assuredly, Allah will be Pardoning, Forgiving to the one who repudiates by zihaar through an atonement.

58:03
a. Those of the husbands who thus estrange their women/wives, then they wish to retract what they had uttered, let them free a captive before any skin-to-skin cohabitation between them.
b. Thus you are being warned so that you will never utter such contemptuous words again.
c. And Allah is Well-Aware of what you do.

58:04
a. And whoever cannot find any captive to set free or does not have the means of doing so, then let him keep Fast for two consecutive months, without any interruption, before any skin-to-skin cohabitation between them.
b. And whoever is unable for reasons of ill health or old age, then let him feed sixty poor people.
c. All this is decreed so that you may believe in Allah, HIS Injunctions and HIS Messenger.
d. And these are the limits set by Allah.
e. And the disbelievers/disobedient - those who will not comply...

قرآن كا سات حروف پر نازل ہونا

According to Hadith literature, the Quran is revealed in seven Ahruf, the plural of harf. Ahruf are distinct from Qira'at. This is a very momentous and lengthy topic, indeed, one of the most complicated discussions on the sciences of the Qur’an. It is very difficult to discuss it in full details in this work but the important things about it are being presented in this article. The first problem we face with this Hadith is what is meant by the Revelation of Qur’an on Seven “Ahruf”? We find a great deal of difference of opinion on this subject. Up to thirty five different views have been quoted by Ibn al-‘Arabi and others. Some of the popular views are quoted in this article. The context of these narrations indicates clearly that the word ‘seven’ does not denote an unspecified large number but it denotes the specific numerical value ‘seven’. Hence, in the light of these narrations this view (that seven means more than that) does not hold good and the majority of scholars reject it. In the vast collections of Hadiths, we do not find any mention of difference in the Qur’an other than that accounted for in “ahruf”. How then may we explain differences in reading and “ahruf”? I have not been able to find a satisfactory answer to this confusion with the advocates of this theory.

Dynamics of Chinese Foreign Policy: A Case of India and Pakistan Relations 2000-2014

Chinese Foreign policy is of vital importance in the South Asian region which in turn carries highly significant prominence in defining the course of events that affect the contours of international political order. The strategic importance of the region centers on the fact that it is the gateway to the Indian Ocean which is known as the energy jugular of global trade. The changing political dynamics of South Asia particularly in relation with Pakistan and India, the two major nuclear capable actors, are also significant. In order to assess the foreign policy of China with two regional rivals a constructivist analysis is undertaken based on a rational actor model. A comparative rational analysis based on the five principles of coexistence i.e., respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty, mutual non-aggression, noninterference in each other‘s domestic affairs, equality and mutual cooperation is formulated along with strategic and economic policies of China towards India and Pakistan. This dissertation also analyzes the foreign policy of these actors namely China, Pakistan and India, to asses paradigm shifts in policy from 2000 to 2014. The thesis highlights changing trends on various economic and military levels to understand foreign policy.
