ڈاکٹر حافظ غلام مصطفےٰ

دوشنبہ ۲۷؍ دسمبر ۱۹۹۳ء کو حافظ غلام مصطفے سابق ریڈر شعبہ عربی مسلم یونیورسٹی طویل علالت کے بعد علی گڑھ میں وفات پاگئے۔ تدفین یونیورسٹی کے قبرستان میں عمل میں آئی۔ان کی ولادت الٰہ آباد میں ۱۹۱۹ء میں ہوئی۔ حفظ قرآن اور ابتدائی تعلیم کے بعد انھوں نے انگریزی تعلیم کی طرف توجہ کی۔ انھوں نے نجی طور پر تعلیم حاصل کرکے الٰہ آباد یونیورسٹی سے بی اے، آگرہ یونیورسٹی سے اردو اور فارسی میں اور علی گڑھ سے عربی میں ایم اے کیا۔ ۱۹۵۴ء میں پروفیسر عبدالعلیم مرحوم کی صدارت کے عہد میں وہ شعبہ عربی میں لکچرر مقرر ہوئے۔ انہی کی نگرانی میں عہد جاہلی کی عربی شاعری میں مذہبی رجحانات کے موضوع پر انھوں نے ڈاکٹریٹ حاصل کی۔ کچھ دنوں کے بعد وہ ریڈر مقرر ہوئے اور ۲۵ سال شعبے میں تدریسی فرائض انجام دے کر ۱۹۷۹ء میں متقاعد ہوئے۔

ان کتابوں کے علاوہ انگریزی، عربی اور اردو میں ان کے مضامین مقتدر رسالوں میں شائع ہوئے ہیں۔
اولاد میں دو بیٹیاں اور تین بیٹے یادگار چھوڑے ہیں۔ سب تعلیم یافتہ ہیں اور برسر روزگار، صفیہ جاریہ نے علی گڑھ سے فارسی میں ایم اے اور ۱۹۷۵ء میں پی ایچ ڈی کیا ہے۔ ان کے مقالے کا عنوان تھا: ’’داستان یوسف زلیخادر شعر فارسی‘‘ فارسی زبان و ادب سے متعلق متعدد مقالات برہان، تحریر اور دوسرے رسالوں میں شائع ہوئے ہیں وہ آج کل شعبہ فارسی میں ریسرچ ایسوسیٹ ہیں۔ میمونہ جاریہ کیمیا میں ایم ایس...
This article aims to highlight an important aspect of Islamic Law, which relates to social life of a Muslim. Islamic law promotes social harmony and tolerance, but it makes it balance in the light of basic principles and objectives of Shar'īah. Likewise, Islamic law determines social relation between Muslims with each other as well as the relation of Muslims with Non-Muslim citizens in the Islamic state. Furthermore, it is very significant to know that a Muslim can participate in the traditional and religious functions of Non-Muslim or not? Islamic law has made some parameters in this regard, in this research paper we have focused on this specific issue of Islamic law and tried to explain the legal status of this issue in the light of Quran, Prophetic traditions, and opinions of Muslim Scholars. The research method applied in this paper is descriptive and critical study of different school of thoughts is also provided. Muslims have a long history of mutual contacts with the non-Muslims guided by the Shar’īah principles as they have come together in every age in different political and geographical contexts. In the early days of Islam, Muslims were in the minority. At that time, Muslims participated in the social life of their non-Muslims neighbors. Islam respects other religions. Provides all kinds of facilities to non-Muslims. And allows Muslims to participate in their legitimate programs.۔
Performance Appraisal (PA) is one of the significant human resource practices. There has been a renewed emphasis on the rising needs for using a comprehensive appraisal system in the educational field in order to ensure the achievement of organizational goals and to help teachers grow professionally. The study was a qualitative action research which aims at improving the current practices of performance appraisal in a private school system of Karachi. The objective of the study is to identify the weaknesses and strengths of the current practices of the appraisal and improve upon the weaknesses through collaboration and coordination with various stake holders across the board such as professionals who carryout appraisal practices, head teachers and teachers. This research employed Stephen Kemmis and Robin McTaggart’s participatory action research method involving reconnaissance, implementation and evaluation cycles. The data, in the reconnaissance stage, were collected by administering a questionnaire to teachers, analysis of existing appraisal documents and interviews of appraisers to get relevant information for the intervention. On the basis of reconnaissance findings two action cycles were planned and implemented by forming an action group, comprised of researcher as a facilitator, a critical friend and a group of appraisers, to make the appraisal practices more professional development oriented. During the intervention phases, qualitative data were collected through ongoing observation and reflection. In addition, appraisal tools were reviewed by some selected teachers. At the end of action cycles, overall changes were assessed with teachers through an evaluation questionnaire. The key findings revealed that the implemented changes have improved the existing appraisal practices by making it more systematic, fair and balanced approach to evaluate teacher performance as recognized by the teachers, however, specific areas within the reviewed appraisal practice were highlighted for further improvement. The recommendations include: the specific training for appraisers and appraisees, using appraisal process to determine teachers’ need for professional development to recognize the value of constructive feedback as a means of improving the quality of teaching and learning.Moreover, in order to make appraisal more effective, it is imperative for teachers to have the ownership of the appraisal process and are collaboratively involved in the ongoing review of policy and procedure regarding appraisal.
