مولانا محمد سلیم صاحب سے میری پہلی ملاقات بارشاید قرول باغ دہلی میں ہوئی، اس زمانہ میں انھوں نے وہاں مدرسہ صولتیہ کے تعارف اور اس کی امداد و اعانت کی غرض سے دفتر قائم کیا تھا اور ایک ماہوار رسالہ نکالتے تھے، جامعہ ملیہ بھی اس زمانہ میں قرول باغ ہی میں تھی، اس کی وجہ سے میرا وہاں آنا جانا ہوتا رہتا تھا، خیال آتاہے کہ دو ایک بار لکھنؤ میں بھی ڈاکٹر عبدالعلی صاحب مرحوم ناظم ندوۃ العلماء کے یہاں انھیں دیکھا تھا، یہ ملاقاتیں سرسری تھیں، گفتگو بھی زیادہ تر رسمی ہوئی، مگر مولانا رحمۃ اﷲ کیرانوی سے نسبت اور مدرسہ صولتیہ کے تعلق کی بنا پر دل میں انکی غیر معمولی عزت تھی۔
مولانا رحمۃ اﷲ علیہ الرحمۃ کا مسلمانان ہند پر بڑا احسان ہے، ہندوستان میں انگریزوں کے تسلط کے بعد سارا ملک عیسائیت کے نرغے میں آگیا تھا، مشنری اس زور تور و قوت کے ساتھ میدان میں نکل آئے تھے کہ خیال ہوتا تھا کہ کچھ ہی عرصہ میں پورا ملک عیسائی ہوجائے گا، مسلمان خاص طور سے زد میں تھے، اس زمانہ میں انگریزوں کا جو رعب اور دبدبہ تھا اس کے سامنے بڑے بڑوں کے پتے پانی ہوتے تھے، ایسی دہشت انگیز فضا میں مولانا رحمۃ اﷲ علیہ الرحمۃ نے جان پر کھیل کر مقابلہ کی ہمت کی، اس زمانہ میں پادری فنڈر کا بڑا غلغلہ تھا، وہ بڑا زور آور مناظر سمجھا جاتا تھا، حکومت کی پشت پناہی نے اسے بہت بیباک بنادیا تھا، مولانا رحمۃ اﷲ نے اسے دعوت مبارزت دی، بالآخر ۱۲۷۰؁ھ میں آگرہ میں بہت بڑے پیمانہ پر مجلس مناظرہ منعقد ہوئی، اس موقع پر مولانا کے ساتھ ڈاکٹر محمد وزیر بھی تھے تاکہ حسب ضرورت انگریزی میں مولانا کی ترجمانی کرسکیں۔

Now the whole world is the global village. The science has brought revolution in every field of life. Man has made a lot of things for his comforts, discomforts, reliefs and destruction. Now the time has come for us to take evolutionary steps to save us from giant’s destruction, terrorism, extremism, intolerance and unrest which are the machinations of complete annihilation over the earth, which needs cosmopolitanism on our part For this purpose, dialogue can play a vital role. People belongs to different civilizations, cultures, societies, nations and religions can sit around the table beings humans and can solve religious, political, geo political and economical problems by enhancing mutuality and common understanding. Dialogical aim should be to avoid clash of civilizations and peace for everyone. Terrorism and extremism should be stopped and we should promulgate coexistence and peace for whole human community. Purpose should be to serve the humanity. We should promote love, peace, respect for the other religions; serve humanity create equality and equity among human beings. This should be safety of present and coming generation. We should pay our role as super creature and thinking creature; super. The barriers which come across while promulgating cosmopolitanism and expatriation is seemed to be is the double standard of the west, that promotes colonialism, terrorism, extremism and economical support of missionaries and these things are the real problems for those human beings who take serious trenchant and serious efforts to achieve dialogical goals cannot achieve it. The role western media plays; is not supportive to this nation. Western world especially American should use her hegemony to make world worth living and worth seeing to the coming generation.

Humanism in Pakistani Novel in English form 1985 to the Present

The study was designed to find out whether or not the Pakistani English novelists have incorporated: Secular, Marxist and Religious categories of Humanism in addition to Human Rights in the themes of their novels, in the context of social political, religious and economic conditions prevailing in Pakistani society. The research questions formulated to achieve these objectives of the study were: what is the extent to which Secular Humanism appears in Pakistani English Novel, have Pakistani English novelists succeeded to incorporate Marxist Humanism in their novels, does Religious Humanism figure in Pakistani English Novel, and are Pakistani English novelists successful in creating the awareness of Human Rights? Population of the study was all the novels written in English by Pakistani English novelists and first time published from 1985 to the present (2005). Sample was taken randomly for the study which comprised 11 novels. The categories of Humanism namely Secular Humanism, Marxist Humanism, Religious Humanism, and Human Rights were defined in the light of available literature about the movement of Humanism, and the operational definitions were developed for the study. The novels, randomly chosen as the sample for the study, were analyzed by using, 'Qualitative Content Analysis Technique'. The contents of each novel were analyzed paragraph wise, on the basis of the operational definitions of the categories along with their themes. The data analysis reveals that Pakistani English novelists are not only well aware of the different aspects and facets of the movement of Humanism but also incorporate these concepts in their stories. Humanism, which is 'Human-being-ism', is that wave of conscience and realization which gives birth to such arts and literature that instil courage and confidence in the human beings to face and defeat not only helplessness but also show them the path of social, political and economic liberties. Pakistani English novelists are well aware of their responsibilities and duties as citizens. They are on the way to perform their role effectively in the establishment of a better human society in Pakistan at the creative level.
