اردو شاعری قدیم روایت کی حامل ہے ۔جس میں ہر شاعر نے اپنا حصہ ڈالا ہے ۔شاعری کی حساسیت اسے مجبور کرتی ہے کہ معاشرتی جبر کو بیان کرے ۔اس کے لیے تشبیہات و استعارات ایسے مورچے ہیں جس کی آڑ میں وہ جبر ،بربریت کو بآسانی بیان کر سکتا ہے ۔
جب ہم منان لطیف ؔ کی نظموں کا مطالعہ کرتے ہیں تو کائنات اور اس کے باسیوں کی حقیقت کھل کر سامنے آتی ہے ۔آوارگانِ خاک تب سے اب تک اور اب سے نجانے کب تک گردشِ ایام کی دبیز تہوں میں غوطہ زن ہو تا رہے گا اور چار پہیوں کی تلاش میں مقامِ انسانیت کھوتا رہے گا ۔احساسِ برتری ایک ایسا زہر ہے جسے انسان ناز پرور ہونٹوں سے اپنے رگ و پے میں اتارتا چلا جاتا ہے۔
’’گردشِ خاک‘‘میں انسانیت سسکتی بلکتی نظر آتی ہے ۔جیسے یہ جہان تندور کی مانند ہے جو اس میں داخل ہوتا ہے وہ اس میں جلتا دکھائی دیتا ہے ۔شکاری جال پھیلائے ہر لمحہ شکار کے منتظر ہیں ۔انسان آزاد و خود مختار ہو کر بھی پابہ زنجیر نظر آتا ہے ۔چھپکلیوں کی طرح حرص ،ہوس ،لالچ ،بغض اور کینہ پروری کی دیواریں چاٹتا نظر آتا ہے ۔
ایک طرف انسان قیاس آرائیوں میں چپ چاپ صبر کا کفن اوڑھ لیتا ہے ۔کئی سنتو رانیاں پریمی کے انتظار میں زندگی کے دن گن گن کر اپنی لٹیں اداس اور چھاتیاں خشک کر لیتی ہیں ۔منان لطیفؔ کی نظموں میں یہ احساس خاصاگہرا ہے ،جودراصل حالات و واقعات کی تصویر کاری ہے ۔

Background: Chronic hepatitis C infection has created a huge burden of disease causing serious health effects. The combination therapy used to treat hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection includes Pegylated interferon and Ribavirin. As cholesterol biosynthesis plays a pivotal role in HCV replication, the use of various statins has been associated with higher sustained viral response Objective: To compare the efficacy of atorvastatin plus pegylated interferon and ribavirin versus pegylated interferon and ribavirin alone in patients of chronic hepatitis C with genotype-3a Methods: This Randomized controlled trial was conducted at outpatient department, Mayo Hospital Lahore for six months i.e. May to November 2017. After ethical approval, 60patients of ages 25 to 55 years of either gender with chronic hepatitis C with genotype 3a were included in the study. Informed consent was taken from all patients. Then patients were randomly allocated into two groups “A” and “B” using random number table. Patients in Group A received standard of care treatment for chronic hepatitis C i.e. Pegylated interferon and ribavirin while the patients in Group B also received tab atorvastatin along with the standard treatment. Patients were follow up for 4 week. Blood samples were collected and HCV RNA detection. All this information were entered in proformaResults: In standard therapy group, the mean age of patients was 39.50±8.39years. In atorvastatin plus standard therapy group, the mean age of patients was 34.30±6.78years. In standard therapy group, there were 25 (83.3%) males and 5 (16.7%) females. In atorvastatin plus standard therapy group, there were 16 (53.3%) males and 14 (46.7%) females. After 4 weeks, Rapid VirologicalResponse (RVR) was achieved in 4 (13.3%) patients in standard therapy group while in 14 (46.7%) in atorvastatin plus standard therapy group. The difference was significant (p<0.05) Conclusions: Atorvastatin in combination with Pegylated interferon and ribavirin have better efficacy as compared toPegylated interferon & ribavirin alone in chronic hepatitis C-3a.
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder which is associated with swelling and inflammation in the synovial membrane of joints leading to bone and joint damage. Etiology of this disorder still needs a comprehensive understanding however the relationship among different factors of genetics and environment is supposed to lead towards the occurrence of this disease with 65% involvement of inheritance and the rest being attributed to the environment. Approximately one percent of the global population which usually comprises the adults and is mostly from the developed states is affected by this disorder whereas Pakistan’s prevalence for this disease is reported to be around 0.1-0.5%. Several studies in the past have identified and named a range of variants and loci which are found connected with RA incidence in inhabitants of diverse populations. The T-cell Activation RhoGTPase Activating Protein (TAGAP) is one such gene which is considered meticulously significant in RA and other autoimmune disorders because of its involvement in T cells activation. Considering the SNP association studies, so far three TAGAP gene polymorphisms have been reported to have significant association with RA in different populations of Europe and they are rs212389, rs182429 and rs394581. Present study was aimed to carry out both in-vitro and in-vivo investigations on different aspects of the TAGAP gene including the association of its SNPs with RA in Pakistani population, kinetics of its expression in this disease and computational analysis of its missense SNPs to identify the deleterious mutations which could lead to the malfunctioning of this gene. A SNP association study on Pakistani RA patients (n=186) and healthy controls (n=185) was carried out through Taqman SNP genotyping assays. The results showed that the TAGAP polymorphism rs182429 is associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis (P=0.0014) under recessive genetic model while no association was found for the other SNP rs212389. Investigating TAGAP expression in cia mice model showed descending pattern in spleen and lymph nodes (P<0.01) while the disease affected paws depicted an increase in the gene expression. This altered expression reflects the movement of leukocytes towards the antigen presentation sites and then to the disease site with the progression of the immune response. Kinetics of the TAGAP mRNA expression analysis revealed notably higher levels of TAGAP in RA patients from both European and Pakistani population (P<0.05). IFNγ was also found significantly higher in RA patients (P<0.05) but no correlation was detected between TAGAP and IFNγ. The in silico approach to analyze missense SNPs in TAGAP revealed three highly damaging non-synonymous missense SNPs which might affect the protein’s structure and/or function. These are Glycine to Glutamic Acid at site 120, Glycine to Tryptophan at site 141 and Valine to Methionine at site 151.It can be stated that this project will help in exploring therapeutic strategies for RA hence will contribute in the management of the disease and that would be a great benefit for upcoming generations.
