مولانا شوکت علی
ہندوستان کی اسلامی دنیا گزشتہ مہینہ ایک اور صدمۂ عظیم سے دوچار ہوئی، یہ مولانا شوکت علی صاحب کی ناگہانی موت کا سانحہ ہے، یہ وہ شخصیت ہے جس نے تیس برس تک مسلمانوں کی خدمت کی، وہ نہ عالم تھے، نہ مقرر تھے، وہ جیسا کہ خود کہا کرتے تھے سپاہی تھے، ان تھک کام کرنے والے، نڈر، پردل اور پرامید، وہ کبھی کسی حال میں ناامید نہیں ہوتے تھے، ان کی تقریر چند فقروں کی ہوتی تھی، مگر وہ فقرے لوگوں میں روح پھونک دیتے تھے، وہ اپنے ساتھیوں کو بھی کبھی مایوس نہیں ہونے دیتے تھے، یہ انہیں کا کام تھا کہ ۱۹۲۰ء سے مرتے دم تک سارے ہندوستان کو چھان مارا تھا، تیس برس کی جانکاہ محنت کے بعد موت نے سپاہی کی کمر کھول دی اور وہ ابدی آرام کے لئے دائمی نیند سوگیا، جامع مسجد دلّی کی سیڑھیاں ان کی خواب گاہ بنیں چشم اعتبار اس کے لوح مزار پر یہ شعر کندہ پائے گی:
زباں دانِ محبّت بودہ ام دیگر نمید انم
ہمی دانم کہ گوش ازدوست پیغامے شنید اینجا
حزیں ازپائے رہ پیمابسے سرگشتگی دیدم
سر شوریدہ بربالین آسائش رسید اینجا
میری ان کی سب سے پہلی ملاقات ۱۹۱۲ء میں ہوئی، بنگلور میں اسلامی تعلیمی کانفرنس تھی، وہ لکھنؤ کی سمت سے اور مجھے مولانا شبلی مرحوم نے بمبئی سے بھیجا تھا، ہم دونوں کا ساتھ اس گاڑی میں ہوگیا، جو دونوں سمتوں کے مسافروں کو لے کر بنگلور جاتی تھی، رات کا وقت تھا، وہ اس زمانہ میں نوکری سے الگ آغا خان کے سیکریٹری کی حیثیت سے مسلم یونیورسٹی کے لئے چندہ جمع کررہے تھے، وہ پہلے بھی صاحب تھے اور اس وقت بھی پورے صاحب تھے۔

Emergence of biomedical research and innovation with an unprecedented speed has created number of opportunities and challenges for policy makers. On the one hand, it is now possible to introduce tailor-made personal medication regime for an ailing patient to offer state of the art treatments. On the other hand, several ethical and legal issues have been raised due to the complex nature of emerging technologies. Policy makers all over the world are constantly addressing these challenges by continuously upgrading their respective professional and regulatory frameworks. This article is an attempt to highlight Shariah maxims which have contemporary application in medical field. Lately, there has been a lot of interest in the debate of Shariah maxims and many scholars have used maxims-based analytical frameworks to show the dynamic application of Islamic law. This article builds upon those works by focusing on issues related to the medical field.
This study encompasses the influence of Western culture and civilization on Urdu novel from its beginning in 1869 to 2012. Urdu novel has strong ties with culture and civilization related themes. Novel in Urdu, right from its beginning, has been deeply influenced by Western culture and civilization. The thesis under view has been divided into six chapters. The first chapter discusses the terms culture and civilization, giving various views, Western as well as Eastern, in this regard. Furthermore, the relation between culture, civilization and literature has also been discussed briefly. Chapter two is based upon the works of pioneers of Urdu novel. This chapter covers the influence of Western culture and civilization on early novels from 1869 to 1930. In the third chapter of the thesis, influence of Western culture and civilization on the novels written under the influence of Progressive Writers Movement has been discussed in detail. Chapter four highlights post-independence Pakistani novel from 1947 to 1980. In the fifth chapter, influence of Western culture and civilization on contemporary Urdu novel has been discussed. The sixth and last chapter comprises a conclusion, overall review of the discussion done in first five chapters, findings of the research and recommendations for further research work.
