افسوس ہے کہ گزشتہ مہینہ گاندھی جی کے مشہور چیلے شری مشرو والا نے انتقال کیا، وہ ہریجن کے اڈیٹر اور گاندھی جی کے مشن کے سچے حامل و مبلغ تھے اور اس زمانہ میں جب کہ کانگریس اپنے اصولوں سے عملاً بالکل ہٹ گئی ہے اور کانگریسیوں کی اکثریت اقتدار کی ہوس، ذاتی اغراض اور فرقہ پرستی میں مبتلا ہے اور فرقہ پرستوں اور خود غرضوں کی قوت اتنی بڑھ گئی ہے کہ سچے کانگریسی بھی مشکل سے ان کے مقابلہ میں زبان کھولنے کی جرأت کرسکتے ہیں، مشرووالاجی اپنے اصولوں پر قائم تھے اور آخر دم تک نہایت دلیری کے ساتھ گانگریس کی غلط روی پر تنقید اور گاندھی جی کے اصولوں کی تبلیغ و اشاعت کا فرض انجام دیتے رہے انھوں نے ان کی تعلیمات پر متعدد کتابیں لکھی ہیں، اس خود غرضی اور فرقہ پرستی کے دور میں ایسے مخلص اور سچے کانگریسی کا اٹھ جانا ایک ناقابل تلافی نقصان ہے، ان کی موت سے متحدہ قومیت کا ایک بڑا ستون گرگیا، جس کی جگہ مدتوں نہ بھر سکے گی۔ (شاہ معین الدین ندوی، اکتوبر ۱۹۵۲ء)
Medical journals are a credible source of disseminating research and innovations, and Launching a medical journal is a challenging task. Many medical science journals are establishing a platform to publish quality research but still the task is tough and requires perseverance and hard work. Shalamar Medical and Dental College (SMDC) Lahore, strives to promote a culture of research. As part of this initiative, SMDC had launched ‘Medical Journal of Sakina Begum Institute’, but publication of the second volume was delayed due to the pandemic. Moreover, the name of the journal had to be changed due to some administrative issues. However, the committed editorial team was successful in bringing efforts for the latest issue to fruition.
In this study, the mediating role of psychological empowerment between self-leadership behavioral focused
strategies and organizational commitment was examined in telecom sector of Faisalabad city. Moreover, the
relationship between self-leadership behavioral focused strategies and organizational commitment was also
analyzed. Literature showed a direct and positive relationship between self-leadership behavioral focused
strategies and organizational commitment. The mediating role of psychological empowerment between both
constructs was also found significant in past studies. Behavioral self-leadership strategies were investigated
along with three dimensions of organizational commitment.
To collect data for analysis, convenient sampling technique were used. Unit of analysis were full time employees
in telecom organizations. The results of the study depicted a strong correlation between behavioral self-
leadership strategies and organizational commitment. But the mediating role of psychological empowerment
was not found significant. This study presented that behavioral self-leadership strategies have positive and
direct relationship with organizational commitment. The employees who were more engaged with behavioral
self-leadership strategies were found more committed with their organizations. But impact of psychological
empowerment as mediator was not found strong.
This study may assist employees to better understand how behavioral strategies of self-leadership increase
their level of commitment with organization and what is role of psychological empowerment between these
two constructs.
