عبدالحمیدعرفانی (۱۹۰۷ئ۔۱۹۹۰ئ) سیالکوٹ کے ایک گائوں مغلاں والی میں پیدا ہوئے۔عرفانی نے چکوال ہائی سکول سے میٹرک کیا۔ سکول کے زمانے میں انھیں ایسے دوست ملے جو بعد میں پاکستان کی ممتاز شخصیات میں شمار ہوئے۔ ان میں ڈاکٹر غلام سرور،کرنل محمد خان،قاضی گل محمد،خواجہ عبدالعزیز اور نیاز محمد خان قابل ذکر ہیں۔ ۱۹۵۶ء میں انھوں نے پنجاب یونیورسٹی سے فارسی میں ڈاکٹریٹ کی ڈگری حاصل کی۔ فارسی زبان میں لکھا گیا ان کا مقالہ’’شرح احوال و آثار ملک الشعرا بہار‘‘ پنجاب یونیورسٹی کی تاریخ میں پہلا مقالہ تھا۔(۴۹۲) عرفانی ۱۹۴۵ء میں بھارت کے شہر دہلی میںمحکمہ تعلیم کی طرف سے ایرانیوں کوا نگریزی پڑھانے پر مامور ہوئے۔ ۱۹۴۹ء میں وہ ایران میں پاکستان کی طرف سے پہلے کلچرل اینڈ پریس اتاشی مقرر ہوئے۔ ۱۹۶۴ء میں حکومتِ پاکستان کے فارن پبلسٹی کے شعبہ میں ڈائریکٹر مقرر ہوئے۔ ۱۹۶۸ء میں وہ آر سی ڈی کے نمائندے کی حیثیت سے ایران میں مقیم ہوئے۔ (۴۹۳) ۱۹۵۵ء میں حکومتِ ایران کی طرف سے ’’نشان سپاس‘‘،اور’’نشانِ ورزش‘‘ عطاہوئے۔۱۹۶۲ ء میں ایران نے ان کی شاعرانہ عظمت کے اعتراف میں ’’نشان رستا خیز ملی ‘‘سے نوازا۔ ۱۹۶۶ء میں حکومت پاکستان نے انھیں ’’ستارہ امیتاز ‘‘ عطا کیا۔(۴۹۴)
خواجہ عبدالحمید عرفانی چار اردو ،بارہ فارسی اور ایک انگریزی کتاب کے مصنف ہیں۔ خواجہ عرفانی کے ’’کلیاتِ عرفانی‘‘ میں اردو فارسی شاعری کو یکجا کر دیا گیا ہے۔ حصہ اردو میں غزلیات، مانولاگ کے تراجم اور قومی نظمیں شامل ہیں۔ عرفانی نے چھٹی ساتویں جماعت میں ہی اردو اور فارسی میں شعر کہنے شروع کر دئیے۔ ڈاکٹر غلام جیلانی برق شاعری میں ان کی اصلاح کرتے تھے۔ وہ انھیں سکول کا سب سے اچھا شاعر سمجھتے تھے۔(۴۹۵) سکول کے زمانے میں عرفانی مولانا حالی اور مرزا غالب سے بہت متاثر تھے۔ عرفانی کی قومی موضوعات پر لکھی گئی نظموں میں حالی کا رنگ...

Reformation of Moral Philosophy and its Foundation in Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) Though, the twenty first century is passing through a great development in the field of science, intellect, education and technology, human beings seem spiritually and ethically in a more miserable condition day by day. We observe inflation in the problems and complications regarding their solutions in human societies with every passing day. Today’s man is highly engaged in universe and its enquiry, we are developing knowledge and physical efforts for taking control over all phenomena of universe, but in this effort, we lost our capability of good values and ethics mostly. In such conditions, the one and only personality, the Ambassador of peace, beloved Muhammad ﷺ is the source of guidance, by whom the spirit of a man could meet with peace and stability. But the solution of this major problem never can be just adopting his ethical teachings and the rejection of bad actions. If so, then the thousands of past writings about the issue have brought the revolution already on the face of the earth. Modern philosophy of ethics and Morality is based upon the concept of relativity as “Good” or “bad” is not universal truth at all. For this reason, it is less effective in terms of practicality. The roots of philosophical concepts we find in the teachings of Prophet’s Muhammad (ﷺ). Have no enigmas and ambiguity Morality. Promoting the prophetic philosophy of Ethics and Morality can change the behavior of man automatically rather than forcefully. In this article, effort has been made to critically analyze the modern Moral philosophy in the light of Sῑrah of the Holy Prophetﷺ. Analytical and critical research methodology is adopted in this study.

Investing Job Satisfaction of Teachers in Karachi, Pakistan: A Survey Study

Job satisfaction is an important but a very complex issue, as it is all about human behavior, which is difficult to measure (Saiti, 2007). Knowledge of an employees' level of satisfaction is important for both the organization and the employee because of its (job satisfaction) association with workplace productivity. Furthermore, the knowledge of employees' lack of satisfaction with certain facets of the job will also prompt necessary measures by the employer for improving that aspect, so that the employees' well-being and productivity can be improved. The studies around the area of job satisfaction have explored various aspects of a job and the relationship between job satisfaction and the contributing factors affecting it, which, sometimes, have yielded inconsistent and contradictory findings. The present study is an attempt to explore job satisfaction of teachers of private and government schools in the context of Pakistan. In particular, the study aimed at exploring the overall level of job satisfaction of teachers of Karachi, Pakistan and to see if there is a difference of satisfaction with job between government and private schools' teachers. An important focus of the study was to see to what extent demographic characteristics such as, age, qualification, length of service and salary affect teachers' satisfaction level. A questionnaire of Job Satisfaction Survey (Spector, 1985) was adapted and administered on 500 private and government teachers with a return rate of 69%. SPSS was used to analyze the data generated from the survey. The findings of the analysis revealed that the teachers were somewhat satisfied with their overall job. A comparison between private and government teachers showed that the private school teachers had a higher level of satisfaction with their job than their government counterparts. The analysis also revealed varied level of relationship between demographic characteristics and job satisfaction. The findings show that the level of job satisfaction decreases as the teachers' length of service increases. In a similar way, satisfaction with job also decreases as teachers' age increases. Salary was also found to have negative correlation with job satisfaction, which means the more the salary, the lesser the teachers' job satisfaction, whereas academic and professional qualifications were not found to have any association with job satisfaction
