Economically, Pakistan is an agricultural country as the agriculture sector offers employment to 42.3% of the country?s citizens involved with any kind of labor for their livelihood, 19.5% of its gross domestic product (GDP) comes from the agriculture sector apart from the raw materials for many other value-added sectors contributing to huge quantities of added indirect income; livestock sector as for instance, adding 58.33% to the worth of agriculture besides contributing 11.39% directly to GDP. Population of livestock are cattle 44.4, Buffalo 37.7, Sheep 30.1, goat 72.2, Camel 1.1, Horses 0.4, Asses 5.2, Mules 0.2 millions. Asses population increased from 4.9 to 5.2 million while population of Camel, Horses and mules remained unchanged since last year. Horses along with mules and donkeys facing many managerial, nutritional, noninfectious and infectious diseases which decreases production and performance, out of which infectious diseases such as Glanders is life threatening and pose zoonotic potential to human beings specially care takers, veterinarian and public health. To monitor threat due to these asymptomatic carriers to animals and human beings and from places having decreases frequency of disease Glanders in equines, it is unavoidable to develop and optimize a highly specific and sensitive molecular test such as PCR, required to decrease the number of results which are false negative and false positive findings besides being fast and accurate. 200 nasal and blood samples of working equines (horses, mules and donkeys) were collected from the Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore and Multan at the sites of Brook hospital. All the samples were collected and transported to the WTO Quality Control Laboratory of UVAS, Lahore keeping in account the all microbiological hygienic and hazardous measures according to OIE protocols. All the animals were injected mallein PPD intra-dermally into the lower eyelid with the result noted after first and second day. Blood of animals were used for DNA extraction by commercially available DNA extraction kit. The extracted DNA were subjected to Gel Electrophoresis for integrity of the extracted DNA and then used further for amplification of target region of the DNA. The extracted DNA was used for the amplification of Flip IS407A gene region using the specific primers. Products of the PCR were visualized with UV light after electrophoresis of the gel and B. mallei was detected in only positive control. The study found high prevalence of the disease and existence of active nasal shedders in equines. The findings implicate importance of targeted surveillance in glanders suspected equines.

Professional Standards Training and Understanding Pre-School Teachers’ Knowledge About Professional Standards

Theimprovement of the teacher’s quality, including teachers in general and preschool teachers in particular, hasgained interested in many countries around the world. Currently, most countries in the world have issued a framework of competency or professional standards for teachers as a basis for preschool teachers to self-assess and be assessed for their qualities and competenciet. On that basis, preschool teachers can implement the plan of quality training, strengthen and improve professional expertise. This article, the author conducts research to evaluate the implementation of the professional standards manual of schools and the teacher's understanding of professional standards. This is considered an important factor that will contribute to improving the effectiveness of teacher ratings according to professional standards. In this study, the author uses mainly quantitative research methods (survey, descriptive statistics and inference statistics) to clarify the problems that the research has posed. Research results show that there is a relationship between standard manual training and preschool teachers' understanding of professional standards. Standards instructors have a good understanding of professional standards. Especially the training is organized by the school and the education and training department, so the training classes are small, with a small number of participants and therefore higher quality.

The Influence of Consumer Animosity With the Mediating Effect of Religiosity of Consumer Buying Behavior: An Empirical Investigation on Buying Foreign Products in Pakistan

Religion plays a significant role in consumers’ buying behavior. It affects human behavior in terms of the demarcation of thoughts, values, moral standards and attitudes. In period of market globalization, religion played immense role to change global trade. Country of Origin (COO) is a significant factor that creates huge market opportunities in order to benefit the country and the firm both. Many companies, globally, are venturing in overseas markets as to get large benefit for their companies and by labelling the origin of the product. COO makes consumer emotional especially Muslim consumers affiliation with religions. The aim of the study is to examine the interceding part of extent of religiosity on the relationship between consumers’ animosity based on country of origin on consumer buying behavior. The current study empirically investigated whether the consumer animosity based on extent of religiosity impacts on Muslim consumer buying behavior in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) of Pakistan. To examine the effect of selected predictors on outcome variable, 500 self-administered survey questionnaires were distributed in 10 selected HEIs of Pakistan and response rate was 86%. The data was collected using multistage sampling technique where HEIs and the respondents were selected on scientific bases. This study has utilized quantitative approach to examine level of Consumer Animosity and Religiosity among the respondents regarding foreign products by deducing results with the help of Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using SmartPLS software. However, the descriptive statics were employed using SPSS software. The findings of the study reports that foreign products are generally viewed as high association products to religious Muslims regarding their contents and origin. It is found that in Muslim societies if the respective products are imported from some hated or non-Muslim country, the products are strongly resisted by the consumers. Religious commitment appears to be a critical forbearer to Muslim consumers’ regarding their immersion in the consumption decision of foreign product. The empirical analysis shows that all 27 hypotheses are supported. The findings of the present study suggest that religiosity can have a noticeable impact on consumers’ preferences when they purchase foreign products. As it is noted that religious norms are constant irrespective of time frames and eras, therefore, organizations can find ways to dominate significant segments of consumer markets in the host countries by recognizing their religious needs and religious devotion in their practical lives.
