This study compared the inputs and outputs in public and private secondary schools in Tehsil Kamoke. The private schools were selected from the schools meant for middle and lower middle income classes. The input factors included teacher?s academic and professional qualification, student teacher ratio, teacher training, and assessment of students, physical facilities, and administrative competency of HTs, teachers? competencies, co-curricular activities and per student cost. The output for the study was defined as the scores of students obtained in the matriculation examination of the BISE Gujranwala. Study population comprises 47 government high schools and 55 private secondary ( private schools meant for low and middle income groups) affiliated with Board of intermediate and Secondary education Gujranwala in Tehsil Kamoke. Fifteen schools were sampled from each sector for data collection. The number of sampled HTs was 30 (15 from each sector) and number of sampled teachers were 150 (75 from each sector).The data was collected from the Head teachers and five teachers of each sampled school by using separate questionnaires for the HTs and teachers. Other sources of data collection were Budget 2018-19 report (Khunshan, 2018), fee structure of private schools and result gazette BISE Gujranwala 2018. Descriptive research method was adopted and t. test was applied for data analysis. Study was concluded that private schools lead the public schools in academic achievements of students, teacher training, appropriate student teacher ratio, teaching competencies of teachers, assessment of students, administrative competencies of head teachers, co-curricular activities and cost per student. Public schools lead the private schools in having highly qualified teachers and head teachers in academic and professional qualification. Public schools also lead the private schools in some physical facilities like play grounds, science labs, computer labs and class room ventilation. It was also found that private schools have higher efficiency as compared to public schools.

۸؍ مئی ۲۰۰۳؁ء گواردو کے ممتاز ادیب و نقاد اور اچھے افسانہ و ناول نگار ڈاکٹر ابن فرید کا انتقال ہوگیا۔ اناﷲ وانا الیہ راجعون۔
ڈاکٹر ابن فرید کا اصل نام محمود مصطفےٰ صدیقی تھا، وہ ضلع بارہ بنکی میں سترکھ کے قریب کے ایک گاؤں ظفر پور میں ۲۸؍ اکتوبر ۱۹۲۵؁ء کو پیدا ہوئے تھے لیکن ان کی زندگی کا زیادہ حصہ علی گڑھ میں گزرا، آخر میں رام پور میں متوطن ہوگئے تھے، بیمار ہونے پر علی گڑھ میڈیکل کالج میں داخل کیے گئے، یہیں پیامِ اجل آگیا، وہاں سے ان کا جسدخاکی ان کے وطن ظفرپور لایا گیا، ۹؍ مئی کو نماز فجر کے بعد اپنے آبائی قبرستان میں سپرد خاک کردیے گئے۔
ان کے گھر کے حالات بہتر نہیں تھے، ہائی اسکول کرنے کے بعد تعلیم چھوڑ کر رائل انڈین ایر فورس میں ملازمت کرلی، یہ سلسلہ ۱۹۴۴؁ء سے ۱۹۴۷؁ء تک جاری رہا، یافت کے لحاظ سے ملازمت اچھی تھی مگر ان کو پسند نہیں تھی، وہ اپنی تعلیم جاری رکھنا چاہتے تھے، ٹیوشن سے کام چلاتے، تعلیم کا شوق انہیں علی گڑھ لے گیا، نفسیات میں داخلہ لیا، اس میں، انگریزی اور عمرانیات میں ایم۔ اے کیا، ۱۹۷۶؁ء میں پی۔ایچ۔ڈی کی ڈگری لی۔
علمی ذوق کی وجہ سے معلمی کے پیشے سے وابستہ ہوئے، مرکزی درس گاہ اسلامی رام پور سے تدریس کا آغاز کیا، پھر علی گڑھ مسلم یونیورسٹی کے شعبہ تعلیمات و عمرانیات میں لکچرر ہوئے، ملک عبدالعزیز یونیورسٹی جدہ میں بھی درس و تدریس کی خدمت پر مامور رہے، ریٹائر ہونے کے بعد سکوتو یونیورسٹی نائجیریا اور بین الاقوامی یونیورسٹی ملیشیا نے ان کی خدمات حاصل کرنی چاہی مگر اپنی اور اہلیہ کی صحت کی خرابی کی وجہ سے معذرت کردی۔

The Life and Works of Ahmad Deedat: A Muslim Scholar of Christian Bible

Deedat. He debated with Christian scholars on very sensitive topics (from the point of view of Christianity) like ‘Is the Bible God’s Word?’ ‘Was Christ crucified?’ ‘The Quran or the Bible, which is God’s word?’ ‘Is Jesus God?’ and so on and proved almost all the basic doctrines of their faith from their own scriptures to be baseless. Throughout his life, deedat, faced a lot of criticism from non-Muslim scholars as well as from many Muslim scholars but he remained steadfast in his mission, and continuously struggled for preaching Islam through arguments and debates. He is best known as Muslim preacher who remained engaged in numerous intellectual inter-religious open debates with evangelical Christians, as well as video lectures, most of which relates to Islam, Christianity, Judaism & the Bible.

Semantic Annotation and Retrieval in E-Recruitment

E-recruitment processes prioritize matching between job descriptions and user queries to identify relevant candidates. Existing e-recruitment systems face chal lenges in extracting job descriptions due to unstructured nature of content and text nomenclature differences for defining the same content. The systems are par ticularly unable to extract effectively contextual entities, such as job requirements and job responsibilities from job descriptions. They also lack in producing effec tively desired search results due to semantic differences in job descriptions and users English natural language queries. This thesis proposes a framework to cater for challenges in the existing e-recruitment systems. The proposed Semantic Extraction, Enrichment and Transformation (SExEnT) framework extracts entities from job descriptions using a domain specific dictio nary. The extraction process first performs linguistic analysis and then extracts entities and compound words. After the extraction of entities and compound words, it builds job context using a job description domain ontology. The ontol ogy provides an underlying schema for defining how concepts are related to each other. Besides building a contextual relationship among entities, the entities are also enriched using Linked Open Data (LOD) that improves search capability in finding suitable jobs. In the proposed framework, Web Ontology Language (OWL) is used to represent information for machine-understanding. The framework ap propriately matches users queries and job descriptions. The evaluation data set has been collected from various jobs portals, such as Indeed, Personforce, DBWorld. A total of 860 jobs were collected that belong to multiple categories, such as technology, medical, management and others. The data set was vetted and verified by HR experts. The evaluation has been performed using precision, recall, F-1 measure, accuracy and error rate. The proposed frame work achieved an overall F-1 measure of 87.83% and accuracy of 94% for entities extraction. The application has a precision of 99.9% in representing and retriev ing job descriptions from its knowledge base. The job description ontology has an overall concept coverage of 96%. The evaluation results show that the pro posed framework performs well in extracting, modelling, enriching, and retrieving job description against queries. At current, the proposed framework is neither able to automatically generate pattern/action rules, nor provide a complex ranked retrieval of job descriptions against a user profile nor automatically extend dictio nary to increase extraction precision. In future, the framework can be extended to resolve these limitations.
