Present study investigates the impact of two monitoring mechanisms; family ownership, and financial reporting quality with other explanatory variables on investment efficiency for the period of 2007 to 2014 for non-financial listed companies at the Karachi Stock Exchange. This study employs two dimensional Pooled Ordinary Least Square Regression, Two Stage Least Square Regression (2SLS), and Generalized Method of Moment (GMM), Feasible Generalized Least Square Regression (FGLS) method to test and examine the significance of hypothesis. The results indicate that higher financial reporting quality and family ownership is associated with higher investment efficiency. Furthermore, the moderation effect of family ownership on the relationship of financial reporting quality and investment efficiency indicate that impact of financial reporting quality on investment efficiency is higher for family owned business as compare to the impact of financial reporting quality on investment efficiency for non-family owned business. The results also show that higher financial reporting quality mitigates the problem of over and under investment as information gap reduces. The results reveal that family ownership increases investment efficiency and may also mitigate the over and under investment problem. The family firms and higher financial reporting quality reduce the tendency of over-investment and under-investment. Therefore, alignment effect outreaches the entrenchment effect as family shareholder and management shares the same vision and have same long-run investment horizon. The desire to shift business to their next generation is possible if family firms invest in efficient projects, therefore, family firms have more efficient investments as compared to non-family firms. Therefore, in emerging market like Pakistan alignment effect, reduced information asymmetry, efficient monitoring, and long term horizon, and the preservation of socioemotional wealth reduce the propensity of under investment in family firms as compared to ii i non-family firms. The results indicate that family firm in Pakistan use accrual based earning management in order to meet their earning targets. In addition, they have lesser propensity to engage in real based earning management as real based earning management is hard to detect for the regulating bodies. In longer run, real based earning management can damage the business, therefore, family firm has lesser engagement in real based earning management in order to maintain their socio-emotional wealth perspective. The family firms report lower abnormal discretionary expanses, abnormal cash flow from operations and lower abnormal production as compare to non-family firms.. The main findings of this study are almost the same by using different estimation techniques and proxies to measure investment efficiency, family ownership and financial reporting quality. The implication that emerges from these results is that financial reporting quality and family ownership act as a corporate governance mechanism tool that enhances the investment efficiency of family firms as compared to nonfamily firms and also mitigate the over and under-investment problem in any family owned business. Thus, the results support the argument presented by the alignment hypothesis of Agency Theory and dynasty succession dimension of Socio-emotional Wealth Theory. Therefore, understanding the quality of these financial reports in family owned business allows investors, regulatory authorities and policy makers to make informed decision. 7. Al-A’raf /The Elevated

I/We begin by the Blessed Name of Allah

The Immensely Merciful to all, The Infinitely Compassionate to everyone.

07:01
Alif. Lam. Mim. Sad.
07:02
This Book - The Qur’an - is being sent down on to you O The Prophet.
So let there be no distress in your heart due to this.
While you are to warn the disbelieving audience through it,
this is a Reminder to the believers.
07:03
O The People!
Follow what is being sent down on to you by your Rabb - The Lord, and
do not follow the whims of others or take others for worship apart from HIM.
Yet little you understand and follow.
07:04
And how many of habitations have WE destroyed before!
So it happened that OUR Punishment came upon them suddenly - either by the night or
while they were in the midst of their noon-nap.
07:05
And when OUR Punishment finally overtook them, they had nothing to say, except crying out:
‘We have indeed been unfair’ to ourselves by sinning!
07:06
It will be during the Time of the Final Judgment that WE will certainly question those to whom WE had assigned OUR Messengers if they followed their teachings, and
WE will also question the Messengers if they had conveyed OUR Message and how did the people respond to it.
07:07
WE will definitely recount their deeds and dealings to them with knowledge and accuracy,
for WE were never absent from their midst!
07:08
And at The Time of the Final Judgment, the weighing of their deeds and dealings will be
fair and just.

Then whose deeds of righteousness will be heavier than their bad deeds on the scales,

Role of Islamic System of Education in Moral Behavior and Spiritual Identity of Muslims

Humans have always had the curiosity to know themselves, to know the world around them, and to know their place in the world. Morality, spirituality and religion are closely intertwined, ‘certain moral ideas became united with certain religious and spiritual ideas to such an extent as to become indistinct from them’. The role of religion in educational institutions is one of the most sensitive and volatile topics on the political and legal landscape now a days especially in country like Pakistan which has been created on religious ideology. The Islamic Way of Life is based on this unique approach to life and a peculiar concept of man's place in the Universe. Islam has provided mankind with the highest possible standard of morality. This moral code, which is both straightforward and practical, provides the individual with innumerable ways to embark upon and then continues the path of moral evolution. By making divine revelation the primary source of knowledge, moral standards are made permanent and stable. The first part of the paper is about the relationship between education and its role as spiritual and moral tool of training. Second part deals with the concept of education in Islam and third part will present types of knowledge in Islam and their application as moral and spiritual tool of education. Last part will give moral and spiritual training methodology in Islamic education. The relationships between ‘moral’, ‘spiritual’ and ‘religious’ seem to be akin to the relationships between the cluster ‘social’, ‘human’ and ‘political’. In each of these clusters, only beings of the kind appropriately described by the middle term can engage in activities which could be properly described by the first and third terms. Islam as religion of spirituality and morality gives a frame work to educate and train the students in modeling their life as more moral and spiritual with practical application in this life and success in the hereafter. The chief characteristic of the Islamic Concept of Life is that it does not admit a conflict, nay, not even a significant separation between life-spiritual and life-mundane. It does not confine itself merely in purifying the spiritual and the moral life of man in the limited sense of the word. Its domain extends to the entire gamut of life. It wants to would individual life as well as the social order in healthy patterns, so that the Kingdom of God may really be established on the earth and so that peace contentment and well-being may fill the world as water f ills the oceans.

The Relationship of Attitudinal and Behavioral Outcomes with Employee Development in the Context of Performance Appraisal in Public Universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

This study examines the impact of performance appraisal on employees' development perceptions and the effects of those perceptions on employees' work-related attitudes and behavior in the public universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The study looks into the mediating role of development in linking performance appraisal and organizational commitment, job satisfaction, employees' trust, and turnover intentions. The model is evaluated through Confirmatory Factor Analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). In Pakistan, efforts to link this 11R activity with employee attitudinal and behavioural outcomes are equal to naught. The present study is an effort to addresses this gap. Results of the research indicate that employee development perceptions have a direct positive influence on organizational commitment, job satisfaction and employees' trust and negatively affect turnover intentions. Besides, these variables have interdependence as well. The findings support the mediating role of development perceptions in the relationships among performance appraisal and these attitudinal and behavioural outcomes. The results provide guidelines and significant implications to help policy makers to better understand and critically look into the current performance appraisal process critically for positive improvements in this crucial HR intervention to promote positive employee attitude and behaviour while considering their career development. Furthermore, the study helps in enriching the current body of knowledge on performance appraisal in developing countries. Future studies should examine other antecedents like fairness perception, organizational citizenship behaviour and perceived organizational support to have a holistic approach to the intervention. Replication of the study in other settings is also recommended.
