This research is focused on the issues of organizational culture and its impact on the human resources management (HRM) practices, especially in the organizations in Pakistan. After a thorough literature review, the research objectives, methodology and hypothesis were selected and through a questionnaire the selected organizations viz; Pakistan International Air Line Corporation PIAC and National Insurance Company Limited NICL) were investigated. Both are the public organizations where thousands of the employees are working together those having different ethnic background, languages and culture but they all have to adapt the organizational culture to carry on their role efficiently and to see the impact of organizational culture on HRM practices in Pakistan. A survey questionnaire was designed and used which was based on 5 point liket scale. The data analysis comprises on the characteristics of sample size the demographic characteristics of the survey and the results shows that the majority of the respondents are male, young, qualified and the research is concentrated on marketing, management and technical staff. The data analysis for the ANOVA and Correlation was carried on computer packages using the Excel program. Meanwhile ANOVA was used to find out the level of significance of variance about the socio- culture adaptation, human resource management and organizational culture in organizations viz; PICL & NICL. To test and get the proper results some reliable statistical methods such as descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used for this purpose the Pearson correlation and ANOVA are very important. The results of P-value of socio-culture adaptation are statistically significant for PIAC and NICL, that results of PIAC shows the p-value 0.00114, which is less than 0.05 at significant level and this result have rejected the Null hypothesis of PIAC. The results of NICL p-value is 0.7271 which is larger than 0.05 significant level that result have accepted the null hypothesis. The hypothesis was “The socio-culture adaptation in organization is statistically not significant for the organizational development”. The result of p-value of HRM practices shows that the PIAC p-value is 3.42 on 0.05 significance level which accept the null hypothesis where as the results of NICL in p- value is .009394 at 0.05 at significance level which rejects the null hypothesis that xvwas “The organizational efficiency is significantly correlated with the socio-culture adaptation and HRM practices in the organization.” The result of organizational culture study shows that at the 0.05 significant level the p-value of PIAC is 2.13 which accept the Null hypothesis and at NICL, the p-value is 4.8 which also accept the null hypothesis. The said hypothesis was “the positive behavior of employees towards organizational culture in perceived to be significant when organizations perform well” is accepted in both the organizations. The other results of ANOVA have confirmed the results of p-value as mentioned in the study. Key words human resources management, organizational culture, socio-culture adaptation, organizational behavior, ANOVA, p-value, correlation, descriptive and inferential statistics.

Born in 1894 in "Darb Sadah" of Cairo: Mehmood Taimur has attained a distinguished place in the world of literature. Besides writing literature, he has also written many essays/articles. He has highlighted social problems in his social essays and has become a social reformer. He has pinpointed the following social issues in these essays: (1) He has exposed the social ills like class distinction: sexual deprivation destitute and ignorance. (2) He has also acquainted the people about the causes of polygamy and divorce in the light of Shariat and rejects the contention with the solid argument that woman is a weak creature subjected to all kind of wrong treatment. Every person has a right to lead a peaceful life in this world and no one has the right to deprive him of this privilege except owing to some Islamic law. Most of the people were unaware of the rights of woman granted by Islam or they were not accepting them but Mehmood Taimur has presented all those rights in a beautiful way before society that is why on reading his social essays man reaches the conclusion that he was a social reformer.

Hemagglutinin Based Vaccinal and Therapeutic Approaches Against Influenza Viruses

Influenza viruses, in seasonal and pandemic forms, cause the most severe respiratory infections in humans. The currently licensed, egg-based vaccines fail to meet the global vaccine demand during a pandemic. Moreover, there is a constant need to reformulate these vaccines on annual basis according to the circulating viral strains. In order to develop efficient prophylactic measures, alternate vaccine strategies and production platforms need to be exploited. Subunit vaccines, like recombinant hemagglutinin, offer an alternative over conventional vaccines. Current study was designed to clone and express soluble influenza hemagglutinin (HA) of H9 and/or H7, which could be used as a vaccine candidate. To achieve high level of secretory expression and stabilized native trimer structure, HA was assembled with sequence for the tissue plasminogen activator signal peptide (tPA-SP) and foldon domain of bacteriophage T4 fibritin (FT) respectively by employing splicing by overlap extension amplification. The amplified product was cloned in pCMVR-8kb having human cytomegalovirus (CMV) immediate-early enhancer and promoter for transient expression of HA in 293F cells. SDS PAGE analysis confirmed a band of ≃ 70 kDa corresponding to H9HA and H7HA which was further confirmed by Western blot analysis and purified by Ni-NTA agarose column. The purified recombinant protein was found biologically active. This expression and purification process can be scaled up easily and recombinant protein can be produced rapidly which can then be used for further studies on virus-host interactions, viral pathogenesis and development of vaccines. The failure of currently available antiviral agents, due to high mutation rate of the influenza virus, calls for employing rigorous strategies to develop safe and potent inhibitory strategies against the virus. Nanoparticles have been studied extensively as potential antimicrobials, their applications recently extended to development of antivirals. In the present study, silver nanoparticles were successfully developed by green synthetic approach using bark extract of Cinnamomum cassia (Cinnamon) and leaves extract of Thymus vulgaris (Thyme). The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Plant extracts (Cinnamon and Thyme) and their corresponding nanoparticles were tested against avian influenza virus subtype H7N3 in Vero cells and the viability of cells was determined by tetrazolium dye (MTT) assay. The silver nanoparticles derived from plant extracts enhanced the antiviral activity and were found to be effective in both treatments, when incubated with the virus prior to infection and introduced to cells after infection. Moreover, the safety profile of the extract and the nanoparticles showed that they were non-toxic to Vero cells even at a concentration of 500 μg/ml. The biosynthesized nanoparticles may, hence, be a promising approach to provide treatment against influenza virus infections. Further research on characterization and mechanism of action of nanoparticles is required to develop better antiviral therapeutics for highly mutating viruses.
