Neoliberalism has emerged as the political and economic philosophy; tend to strengthen governments in financial terms by cutting off the social investments of government on general public and increasing the role of private sector in society. Sports in any society is the social act not just the winning of medals but also keeping society healthy but after establishment of neoliberal philosophy governments tend to decrease their social investment in society similarly the sports. Educational institutions work as hatcheries for sports development and due to the cut shot of social investment these institutions have also decreased the budget of sports. So this study tend to investigate the changes that occurred due to neoliberal philosophy in higher education institutions. In the most precise terms it becomes imperative to study the, Upshots of neoliberalism on sports activities in universities: as an exploratory study. The basic objective of this study was to find out the changes occurring within higher educational institutions in terms of sports participation and competitions. This study was delimited to the public and private sector universities situated in Lahore city. Furthermore study was stretched over those universities which have an association with the HEC and they take part in HEC inert university sports competitions. In this study, mixed methods research design was used and the data collected in this study was in qualitative and quantitative modes. In this study researcher selected all those universities which participate in HEC inter-university sports competitions. Director of sports from all universities and all those players who represent some university in sports competitions were the population of the study. To choose the sampled universities researcher had done census sampling and collected data from all the universities who participate in HEC inter-university sports competitions and are situated in Lahore city. There were four public sector and six private sector universities in Lahore city which participate in HEC inter-university sports competitions. For the selection of players as the potential respondents researcher have done random sampling with probability sampling methods. Total of eight hundred (800) were selected from universities and researcher selected only those players who participated in interuniversity competitions during the session 2015- 2017 and also selected only those players who participate in those games which are included in HEC sports competitions. Data was collected through five point likert-type scale and options of rating scale were; Most Often, Often, Neutral, Rarely and Never.Tool was consisted of forty three items representing eight different variables of neoliberalism. Second tool used in this study was focus group interview protocol which was administered to the Director Sports of all the sampled universities. Regression model was applied to analyze the data collected. ANOVA statistics was applied to see the effect of demographic variables on the parameters of neoliberal thoughts to see the significant difference in means of the sportsmen opinion. Several findings were drawn by the researcher like; universities are not providing facilities to the players for their self-grooming. Universities are not developing ethics within their players‘ through their sports processes. Universities are not making the players learn those skills through which they can make money outside the university. In nutshell researcher argues that there is no significant difference found in both public and private sector universities regarding effects of neoliberalism on their sports activities. Due to the neoliberal philosophy adaptation universities have changed many of their processes regarding sports and sportspersons like; universities are promoting only those games which are financially beneficial for universities and those games which have no financial benefits are the gain less attention of institutions. At the end researcher has made some recommendations like; Universities should not take the sports just an icon term of economic benefits because sports provide the way to maintain the health of the society especially youngsters or youth. Universities tending to serve as the hatcheries for sports and many of the players who found chance of participation at universities level proceeded to the international level; hence the universities should invest in their sports processes for the betterment of sports.

Codification of Muslim Family Laws of Pakistan and Malaysia: An Evolutionary Comparative Study

Codification is the creation of codes, the compilation of written statues, rules, and regulations that inform the public of the acceptable and the unacceptable behaviour. Muslim jurists had differed in their opinion of codification of Islamic laws; some supported the idea, while the others opposed it. However, in the contemporary global situation, Muslim scholars are emphasizing the importance of codification of Islamic laws and efforts have been initiated in many Muslim countries to codify them. In the current paper, the evolution of Muslim Family Laws of Pakistan and Malaysia has been comparatively studied. Malaysia has been selected due to its technological and economic advancement among the Muslim countries. Malaysia serves as an example in the modem codification of Islamic Laws. In Pakistan, Criminal and Penal Laws are codified while the Muslim Family Laws have not been codified and left scattered in various acts, ordinances and court decisions. The Malaysian Family Law are codified in one volume and enacted after necessary legislation through an act of the parliament. The objective of this comparative evolutionary study is to provide a practical model for the Islamization and codification of Muslim Family Laws in Pakistan.

Screening of Commonly Used Feed Ingredients for Digestible Amino Acids, Metabolizable Energy and Their Effects on Three Different Broiler Strains

The present study was planned to examine digestible amino acids (DAA) and apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen (AMEn) of the commonly used indigenous poultry feed resources, and their effects on the performance of Cobb (500), Arbor Acre and Hubbard (Classic). The study comprised of three phases. In the first phase, standardized ileal amino acid digestibility (SIAAD) of 3 samples of each feed ingredient was determined in broilers at the age of 21 days. The test ingredients served as sole source of AAs in their respective diets. The diet based on each sample of each ingredient was fed to 36 birds in 6 replicates, each containing 6 birds. The acid insoluble ash (AIA), at the rate of 2% of the diet, was used as an external marker to determine digestibility. Among cereals, the corn had the highest SIAAD (90.11%) and among cereal by-products, wheat bran exhibited higher SIAAD (76.86%). Among protein meals, soybean had the highest digestibility but it was the lowest in guar meal. In the second phase, the AMEn of 3 sample of each feed ingredient was determined by substitution method in 21 days old broilers using AIA, at 1% of the diet, as an external marker. Among cereals, rice broken had the highest AMEn (3372 kcal/kg). Similar in cereal byproducts, rice polishings supplied the highest AMEn (1936 kcal/kg). The fish meal exhibited highest AMEn (2802 kcal/kg) in protein meals. In the third phase, 3 diets for each strain were formulated using DAA coefficients and AMEn values determined in first two phases to examine the growth performance of three broiler strains. The control diet (C) had standard DAA according to each strain’s requirement. The second diet (HDAA) supplied 10% more DAA and the third diet (LDAA) had 10% less DAA than C. Data were analyzed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) having levels of DAAs nested within broiler strains. The growth performance of Arbor Acre at 42 days of age was better (P<0.05) followed by Hubbard and Cobb. All 3 strains of broilers fed LDAA diet ate more (P>0.05) feed and gained numerically more (P>0.05). Similarly, improved feed conversion ratio (P>0.05) was noticed in Cobb fed HDAA diet. However, Arbor Acre and Hubbard performed better on C diet. Dressing percentage remained similar among all diets in all strains; but, breast meat percentage improved (P>0.05) when fed HDAA diet in all strains. In conclusion, determining nutrient availability of locally available feed ingredients will not only help maintain national database repository but will also help cost-effective broiler production in the country.
