This study was aimed to develop an indigenous fear scale. Furthermore this study was intended to explore and distinguish between the emotions of fear and disgust. It highlights the contexts in which their differentiation is mistakenly done. Moreover this study investigated the relationship between fear, anxiety and depression. Mixed design approach was used in this study. This research is based on four studies. The sample was gathered through purposive convenience sampling method and it comprised of university undergraduate students with the age range of 21-26 years with a mean age of 22 years. In the first study Fear Scale was developed and data were gathered from 300 men and 300 women students (M = 22.86, SD = 1.62). The construct validity was determined through Factor Analysis and it yielded three factors, which were disgust, horror and anxiety furthermore, significant positive correlation was found between these three factors, which supported construct validity of the scale. Confirmatory Factor Analysis also supported three factor solution. Moreover, Fear Scale showed high internal consistency of reliability i.e. 0.89 which indicates that this newly developed scale is a valid and reliable indigenous measure of fear for undergraduate students of both genders. Gender comparison indicated that female undergraduate students significantly experience fear more frequently than men undergraduate students and also the intensity of fear is significantly high among women students. Moreover, results demonstrated that gender is a predictor of fear and its sub scales: disgust, horror and anxiety. In anxiety sub scale variation due to gender is low; however, in horror sub scale variation due to gender is significantly high. Second study was carried out to develop an indigenous model of phenomenology of fear. Study consisted of 25 men and 25 women (age range = 21-26 years, M = 22.64, SD = 1.514). The participants were interviewed by using semi structured interview protocol to develop an indigenous model of phenomenology of fear. Data were analyzed by using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) which resulted in the following themes: vertebrates and invertebrates fear, development, preservation and schedules of fear, mystical phenomena, religiosity and nature, role of personality, humans and social conditions, natural and miscellaneous entities, medical stuff and future dimension. Third study identified similarities and differences between emotion of fear and disgust. In the qualitative phase of third study 20 men and 20 women were interviewed by using semi structured interview protocol and data were analyzed using IPA which resulted in these themes: commonality and divergence, mixed emotion and personality impact , vertebrates and invertebrates fear, fear for natural and mystical phenomena, vertebrates and invertebrates disgust, disgust for natural and mystical phenomena, development and preservation of fear, development and preservation of disgust, and parents’ scolding. In the quantitative phase of this study data was gathered 18 from 50 men and 50 women (age range = 21-26 years, M = 22.67, SD= 1.518) students and results revealed that there were no gender differences in terms of their perception regarding fear and disgust inducing objects. Finally, in the fourth study data were gathered from 100 men and 100 women (age range = 21-26 years, M = 22.78, SD = 1.564) students by employing Fear Scale, Siddiqui-Shah Depression Scale (Siddiqui & Shah, 1997) and Siddiqui Anxiety Scale (Siddiqui & Hasnain, 1993) to assess the interconnectivity among these emotions. Results indicated that fear, anxiety and depression are interlinked emotions however; fear and anxiety are more significantly related as compared to depression and fear. Similarly, anxiety and depression are more significantly related. Gender differences were also present in experiencing these emotions as women experienced greater intensity in these emotions as compared to men. Results also demonstrated that gender is a predictor of experiencing all these three emotions. In depression scale variation due to gender is low; however, in fear scale variation due to gender is comparatively high.

Accounting Guidelines Implementation: A Study on Economic Development of Islamic Boarding Schools

The development of Islamic boarding schools is one of the targets for sharia economic development which is based on the understanding of the halal value chain where the development of Islamic economics and finance summarizes various initiative programs including the development of Islamic boarding schools. The purpose of this study is to describe how the implementation of the Islamic Boarding School Accounting Guidelines at Al Huda Islamic Boarding School which is more focused on the readiness of HR at Al Huda Islamic Boarding School in applying the Islamic Boarding School Accounting Guidelines. The Al Huda Islamic boarding school was chosen as the research locus because the Al Huda Islamic Boarding School was appointed by Bank Indonesia Gorontalo Representative Office as a pilot project for the Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School) which applies the Islamic Boarding School Accounting Guidelines. The stages of the research method began with observations and results of interviews with informants from the board of the Al-Huda Islamic Boarding School. The results showed that there was a desire to apply these guidelines in the Al-Huda Islamic boarding school. Even though treasurers, secretaries and operators do not have a basic knowledge of the Economics of Accounting, the existing human resources are ready to apply the Pesantren accounting guidelines, of course, adjusting to the needs of the Al-Huda Islamic boarding school. The author sees that there is no urgency in implementing Islamic boarding school accounting guidelines at the Al-Huda Islamic boarding school because the reporting entity is the foundation that houses the Al-Huda Islamic boarding school, the Al Huda Islamic Education and Da'wah Foundation, Gorontalo. The foundation is fully responsible for the donors or the community.

Simulation, Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructures for Mems Devices

The advancement in nano-technology imposed great impact on human life due to its vast variety of applications in various fields like medical and healthcare, sports industry, textile industry, agriculture industry, food industry, cloth industry, electronic devices and energy sector. This advancement is based on development of versatile nano-materials; those have attained gigantic reputation because of its superior properties and applications. By using smart and advanced nano-material, various types of nano-structures like nano-pores membrane/template, nanoparticles, nano-wires, nano-rods, nano-tube, nano-fibers can be synthesized by adopting echo friendly strategy. Among these nanostructures, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) template has vast applications in filtration and purification, microelectromechanical system (MEMS) deices and for use in a template in electronics devices. In this work, firstly we have studied simulation of mechanical behavior of AAO nano-porous template by performing finite element analysis using ANSYS. The results depicted that the porous template produced maximum deflection of 1.56µm at the middle when a pressure of 5kPais applied. Secondly, AAO templates were fabricated in two step anodization by using self-designed anodization setup. Field emission scanning electron microscopy was performed to investigate the pore size that is in the range of 60, 80 and 100 nm. After successful template/membrane fabrication the chemical bath deposition method were adopted to grow the zinc oxide (ZnO) nano rods on AAO template. These templates can be used to develop MEMS devices. The expedient way for development of micro-electromechanical systems has (MEMS) based devices are in two key steps. First, perform the simulation for optimization of various parameters by using different simulation tools that leads to cost reeducation. Secondly, development of devices with accurate fabrication steps using optimized parameters. Here, authors have performed piezo-electric analysis of array of zinc oxide (ZnO) nano structures that create on both sides of aluminum rods. Various quantities like swerve, stress, strain, electric flux, energy distribution and electric potential have been studied during the piezo analysis. Then actual control growth of ZnO nanorods (NRs) arrays were grown on both side of etched aluminium at low-temperature using chemical bath deposition (CBD) method for development of MEMS energy harvester. The testing was performed by applying ambient range force on nanostructure and found that the voltage range on topside is 0.59 to 0.62 mV and bottom side 0.52 to 0.55 mV. These kinds of devices are useful in low power control circuits.
