The dietary significance of sportsman drink can be enhanced through additional fermentation using Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophillus. Whey play important role in the sports nutrition due to high quality of proteins and essential amino acids. The present study was carried out to characterize locally available whey i.e. Cheddar, Mozzarella and Paneer whey for physico- chemical and nutritional attributes followed by manufacturing of sportsman drink with normal as well as additional fermentation. The physico-chemical analyses elucidated high pH (5.41 ± 0.16), crude protein (0.83 ± 0.03 %), fat (0.25 ± 0.01 %), lactose (4.95 ± 0.21 %) and total solids (6.55 ± 0.27 %) in Cheddar whey whereas acidity (0.30 ± 0.01) and ash content (0.56 ± 0.02) in Paneer whey while total plate count (TPC) was slightly high (3.17 ± 0.09 x 104 cfu/ml) in Mozzarella whey. The results regarding mineral analysis indicated that whey contain appreciable amount of calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium. Furthermore, amino acid profile elucidated it a complete and balanced source of essential and non-essential amino acids. Amongst essential amino acids, highest values was recorded for branched chain amino acids like leucine (73.16±3.09) followed by lysine (61.56±0.61) and valine (44.13±1.86) mg/g protein. Nine drink formulations were prepared using Cheddar, Mozzarella and Paneer whey alone and in combination with normal fermentation as well as additional fermentation. The developed sportsman drinks were evaluated for nutritional quality with special reference to amino acids, viscosity and total plate count along with sensory response during two month storage. The results regarding hedonic response elaborated highest consumer acceptability of sportsman drink having Cheddar whey with additional fermentation. Drink having Cheddar whey with additional fermentation was further selected on the basis of nutritional, physico-chemical and sensory profiling for biological evaluation. Biological evaluation of selected sportsman drink (T4) revealed highest total digestibility (96.71±1.65%), biological value (98.01±1.55%), net protein utilization (87.31±0.86%), protein efficiency ratio (3.42±0.09), net protein ratio (5.91±0.08%) and protein digestibility corrected amino acid score (97.57±2.01%). From the instant research, it is concluded that whey based drinks have a great potential to improve the gut health and muscular mass required by the sportsman.

Post-Covid 19, Online consumer purchase behavior in Pakistan

Since Covid-19, there has been a rise in e-commerce and online brands' influence on consumer buying behavior. It is crucial to investigate the factors that impact online consumer purchase behavior. Applying the theory of reasoned action (TRA), our study seeks to assess the extent to which customer satisfaction and perceived risks build trust and how trust, consumer engagement, and ease of purchase would act as reasons for consumers to engage in e-commerce in Pakistan. Using data gathered from 400 respondents via a questionnaire, we have demonstrated the precise relationship between these six constructs. Results indicate that customer satisfaction positively influences trust while perceived risks negatively affect it and that trust and consumer engagement positively and directly impact purchase behavior. Online retailers should improve these factors and modify the online environment to increase sales from their e-channels and improve customer retention

Fabrication of Ceramic Oxide Thin Films for Photo- Electrochemical Applications

Some unique monometallic and homo-heterobimetallic complexes [Cu (dmae)2(H2O)]1,[Cu(dmae)(OAc)(H2O)]22,[Sn(dmae)(OAc)]23,[Cu4Y2(dmae)6(OAc )6(H2O)2] 4 and [Cu6Y2Cl0.7(dmae)6(OAc)7.3(OH)4(H2O)2].3H2O.0.3CH3C6H5 5 were successfully synthesized and analyzed for their stoichiometry and structure by physiochemical methods such as melting point, microanalysis, fourier transform infra red (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA/DTA) and X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. The thermo gravimetric analysis ascertains that all the precursors undergo facile thermal decomposition at relatively low temperatures ranging from 400 to 600 oC to yield metal oxide residues. All the designed precursors except 2 were applied for the deposition of ceramic oxide composite thin films on plane and fluorine doped tinoxide (FTO) coated glass substrates by aerosol assisted chemical vapor deposition (AACVD). The precursor 1, 4 and 5 were found suitable for deposition of Cu2O and nanocomposites oxide Cu- YO2-0.5Cu2O and Y2CuO4–5CuO thin films respectively under inert ambient of argon gas. All the deposited thin films were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) for their surface morphology, elemental composition and phase crystallinity. XXIII The precursor 3 was applied for deposition of fullerene-like structured mesoporous SnO2 nanoball thin films on FTO and plane glass substrates by using an in-house built electro-spun aerosol spray pyrolysis (ESASP) technique. The field emission scanning electron microscopic (FESEM) and focused ion beam (FIB) images of the exterior and interior surfaces of the SnO2 nanoball thin films disclose the presence of fullerene-like structures having mesopores of the sizes ranging from 33.5 to 35.0 nm in exterior and 8.0 to 160 nm in interior surfaces respectively. All the fabricated films were found to be impurity and crack free, have good adhesion to the substrate and nanocrystalline in nature ensuring clear grain boundaries with average particle size ranges from 28 nm to 40 nm thus making them suitable for photo electrochemical (PEC) applications. The PEC measurements carried out by three-electrode electrochemical set-up with Ag/AgCl as a reference electrode and a platinum mesh as a counter electrode show an increase of photocurrent observed under illumination of 150W halogen lamp as compared to dark at potentials of 0.6 V and 0.8 V respectively. The performance of the fabricated SnO2 nanoball thin films for application in super capacitors was evaluated by capacitance measurements and all the results provide exciting new opportunities towards mesoporous ceramic nanomaterials for application in energy sector
