Designing RTOS for multiprocessor based system and partitioning the design into hardware and software is the paradigm for the high-end systems evolving to support computation-intensive applications. In this thesis, RTOS is presented that is amalgam of distributed software scheduler and dynamically scalable hardware switch capable of performing all kernel tasks in real time and at wire speed and consequently, minimizing software related scheduling overheads and optimizing resource utilization. Key components of the research output are software framework for mapping high density media applications on multiprocessor based system, its corresponding multilevel scheduler design and design of programmable hardware switch to optimize resource utilization and enhance system performance. In the developed multiprocessor based system, heterogeneous multiprocessors are arranged as Arrays of inter-connected pipelines giving rise to a modified pool-of-pipelines architecture or two dimensional tightly coupled matrix architecture, having scalable, distributed processing and memory capabilities through a plurality of processing elements. The hardware software distributed architecture improves the application optimization, mapped on this multiprocessor based system, by enhancing execution time and minimizing processor idle time, while reducing design complexity and interface problems. RTOS architecture exploits parallelism both in the system application environment and in the distributed computing occurring in the hardware. Based on the type of service, the processes are divided into sub tasks and distributed onto multiple Processors, which are programmed to operate on a set of data, in a certain sequence and in a particular time slot. - 7 -The sequence is maintained by the instruction format of hardware RTOS and the time slot is predicted by the configurations set by the user. Application pipelining framework is presented in the software part of RTOS to exploit parallelism in media application, based on the concept of components or task model, similar to instruction pipelining in the Processor. To meet the constraints and characteristics of the defined framework, two level scheduling policy is adapted. Fixed- Priority Preemptive scheduling algorithm is used at the First-level. For Second-level various scheduling algorithms have been evaluated and analyzed offline and implemented in the software. Heuristic based algorithm is recommended as Second-level algorithm for media application to maintain QoS. The hardware RTOS, called Switch, is implemented as a programmable processor with dedicated program cache. It performs all RTOS kernel tasks in real time and facilitates inter-processor exchange of data, communication or synchronization, deadlock avoidance and exchange of data with external shared memory, thus, enhancing performance and minimizing Processors idle time. The RTOS supports hardware scalability to cater for high to very high density applications and incorporates scalable scheduling and resource management

Almighty Allah has stated the nature of man that everything He loves towards the one He loves is dear to Him. For this reason, in every age human being has been attached to the remains of his beloved thing. The stories of the former Ummah are contained in the holy Qura᾽n, in which their remnants are proven to be safe after they passed away. This last Ummah also appears to meet these natural requirements. Therefore, just as this Ummah loves his Prophet (peace be upon him). Therefore the sacred Islamic ancient relics have extraordinary significance, which are attributed to the holy Prophet. Muslims get peace by them and kept protecting and persevering such relics during every period. The companions of the Prophet (PBUP) have kept them safe too and they organized particular arrangements for preserving them. But there is also a theory which those who believe these are considered as a prohibition of Islamic Sharia, and they present their arguments on the basis of a “Hadith” attributed to Ḥaḍrat ʻUmar Fārūq (R.A). It is narrated from Ḥaḍrat ʻUmar Fārūq, that the he used to give an importance to the memorandum of Muhammad (PBUH). In the light of such “Riwāyās”, the mentioned “Hadith” would be suspicious. It is essential that he research of this “Hadith” should be reviewed, how its status is? In this article, research has been studied by this “Hadith” that it is clear that this “Hadith” could not be narrated by Ḥaḍrat ʻUmar Fārūq (R.A). Therefore, the concept of demolition of such scared ancient relics could not be supported by the above mentioned “Hadith”.

Biodiversity of Diazotrophs in Rhizosphere of Potato Solanum Tuberosum L.

Potato is the third most important food crop which requires high fertilizer that leads to environmental pollution. The use of biofertilizer is environment friendly and cost effective hence is suitable for sustainable agriculture. In this study, 44 bacterial isolates including mostly Azospirillum, Bacillus, Brevundimonas, Enterobacter, Pseudomonas and Rhizobium spp. were isolated from potato rhizosphere of which 32 were able to fix atmospheric N2 and 29 showed indole acetic acid (IAA) production. Strains showed high metabolic and genetic diversity based on BioLog, ERIC and BOX-PCR analysis. Out of potential plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) tested for inoculation response in potato, it was observed that the N2 fixation (%Ndfa) decreases with the increase in applied N for Rhizobium sp. TN04 and Azospirillum sp. TN09 whereas no effect was observed for Azospirillum sp. TN03. Azospirillum sp. TN09 showed the highest %Ndfa among three tested isolates. Under field conditions, Azospirillum spp. TN03, TN09 and Rhizobium sp. TN04, Rhizobium sp. TN04 increased plant height (18%), dry weight (18.5%) tuber dry weight (14%) and tuber yield (19%). Azospirillum, Brevundimonas and Rhizobium spp. also maintain substantial population with potato roots. Metagenomics were employed to study total bacterial diversity in the rhizosphere of potato from major potato growing areas of Punjab, Pakistan showed that structural community (based on 16S rRNA) is almost similar across all the regions whereas functional diversity (based on nifH) of diazotrophs is mostly variable. Abundance of diazotrophs (108-1010 copies of nifH g-1 of soil) changed among regions. Pyrosequencing of nifH validated maximum diversity in Sheikhupura (446 species) whereas minimum in Gujranwala area (291 species). Overall in the potato rhizosphere, most abundant class was α-proteobacteria followed by β-proteobacteria. The study concludes that abundance of different genera varies across different regions due to many biotic and abiotic factors. Azospirillum spp. TN03, TN09 and Rhizobium sp. TN04 omnipresent and have potential to improve potato yield up to 15-19% subsequently saving 50% nitrogenous fertilizer, are recommended as potential candidates for biofertilizer production for potato crop. The study also shows that potato harbor a diverse range of novel diazotrophs (not known earlier) which opens new horizons for future prospects.
