In present study pharmacokinetics and bioequivalence of two brands of cefixime i.e. Cefspan and Ceforal-3 were investigated in adult healthy female and male subjects. Plasma concentration of Cefixime was determined by HPLC method. Pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated following one compartment open model. The half life values were found 3.99±0.54 hr and 3.12±0.39 hr in local adult female subjects and 5.01±0.361 hr and 4.72±0.72 hr in healthy adult male subjects following administration of Cefspan and Ceforal-3, respectively. The values of Vd in local adult female and male volunteers were 1.38±0.22 l/kg and 1.10±0.15 l/kg, respectively, for Cefspan and 1.36±0.17 l/kg and 1.29±0.21 l/kg, respectively, for Ceforal-3. The values of ClB for Cefspan and Ceforal-3 were 0.27±0.02 l/hr/kg and 0.31±0.02 l/hr/kg, respectively, in local females and 0.16±0.02 l/hr/kg and 0.21±0.04 l/hr/kg, respectively, in local males. The values of Cmax were found 2.24±0.23 μg/ml and 2.08±0.16 μg/ml in local adult female subjects and 2.93±0.24 μg/ml and 2.53±0.31 μg/ml in healthy adult male subjects for cefspan and ceforal-3, respectively. The values of Tmax were 4.05±0.35 hr and 4.11±0.16 hr for cefspan and 3.87±0.32 hr and 3.95±0.26 hr for Ceforal-3 after oral administration in local adult female and male volunteers, respectively. The values of AUC for Cefspan and Ceforal -3 were 27.12±2.25 μg.hr/ml and 23.99±1.07 μg.hr/ml, respectively, in local females and 36.58±3.10 μg.hr/ml and 32.99±5.01 μg.hr/ml, respectively, in local males. In indigenous male and female human beings, pharmacokinetic and bioavailability parameters of cefixime showed different values than those reported in literature reflecting environmental and genetic influence. Pharmacokinetic and bioavailability parameters of cefixime also showed gender variation. Moreover both brands of cefixime used in present study were found bioequivalent in either gender.

                علی  اکبر ناطق اپنے بہن بھائیوں میں سب سے بڑے ہیں ان کے چھ بھائی ہیں۔ دو بھائی آرکی ٹیکٹ، کچھ کھیتوں میں کام کرتے ہیں اور کچھ نے اپنا خاندانی پیشہ ’’معماری ‘‘ جاری رکھا ہوا ہے۔ تمام بھائی ان سے چھوٹے ہیں۔ کل نو بہن بھائی ہیں ایک بہن تمام بہن بھائیوں سے چھوٹی ہے۔

                ان کے چھوٹے بھائی اصغر جن کی وفات ایک حادثے میں ہوئی۔وہ اپنی بہن کے بارے میں بتاتے ہیں کہ ان کا  نام خدیجہ تھا ،وہ سکول ٹیچر تھیں ،ان کا قتل ان کے شوہر نے کیا تھا اور ناطق وجہ بھی بتاتے ہیں کہ ان کے شوہر نے ان کا قتل انشورنس کے پیسوں کے لیے کیا تھا۔

Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh Di Masa Pandemi Covid-19

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh adanya kondisi pandemi Covid-19 yang berdampak pada ranah pendidikan. Untuk memenuhi hak peserta didik dalam mendapatkan layanan pendidikan, SD Negeri Karangasem baru pertama kali menerapkan pelaksanaan  pembelajaran  jarak jauh, perubahan pola pembelajaran secara tiba-tiba ini menimbulkan berbagai kendala yang harus dihadapi sehingga guru harus melakukan berbagai upaya agar pembelajaran dapat tetap berlangsung meskipun di masa pandemi Covid-19. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh serta mengetahui upaya yang dilakukan guru untuk mengatasi kendala dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh selama pandemi Covid-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran jarak jauh pada masa pandemi Covid-19 di SD Negeri Karangasem Kabupaten Demak dilaksanakan dengan pola  daring, luring dan home visit. Adapun upaya yang dilakukan guru untuk mengatasi hambatan dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh pada masa pandemi Covid-19 yaitu kembali kepada kebijakan dan kemampuan guru itu sendiri. Hal itu karena sudah menjadi tanggung jawab guru untuk mengelola pembelajaran, termasuk mencari jalan keluar bagi setiap hambatan yang terjadi selama pembelajaran.

Effective Chemistry Teaching at Secondary Level Through Modular Instructional Design

The purpose of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of modular instruction in 10th grade chemistry by employing Gagne's events of instruction. The researcher developed modules of chapter 11th and 12th of 10th —grade chemistry. The instruments developed were validated by pilot study and professional experts. The instrument was based on three cognition levels. The three sections i.e. A, B and C of 10th grade chemistry students constituted the population of the study. Sections B and C were randomly taken as sample of the study and each consisted of 28 students. Both the sections were randomly assigned as modular and traditional group. Section C was assigned the modular group while the section B was traditional group. The modular group was taught by modular instruction and the traditional group was taught by the traditional instruction/lecture method. At the outset of the experiment the students were pre-tested. The experiment lasted for 12 weeks i.e. September 2006 to December 2006.Post-test was administered at the end of the experiment for the achievement purpose. To judge the stability of the independent variable a retention test was administered in mid January 2007. The design selected was pre-test-post-test control group design. A 2x2 factorial design was used to analyze the data. Level of significance chosen was 0.05 for the t-test and the ANOVA test. The analysis of data favored the modular approach and a significant difference was found between the modular and the traditional group. The analysis of the data further revealed the usefulness of the modular instruction and proved its effectiveness within the teaching of chemistry and facilitated student learning. The data analysis further revealed that the modular instruction was not specific to the specific levels of the achievement variable but was generalizable across all levels of the achievement variable i.e. the treatment was not dependent on learner type. No interaction was observed and the modular instruction was found beneficial for both low performers as well as high performers.
