Temporal variability of flows and sediments and bank erosion is fundamental to understand river dynamics. The temporal variability of sediment load and effective discharge class is one of essential information which is require to improve the barrage and canal operations for flow diversion into the canals. Similarly, bank erosion causes substantial land loss along the river banks due to erosion. Moreover, understanding for the impact of flood events on bank erosion are also lacking for sand bed braided river reaches. Similarly, quantitative relationship between branch channel movement and river bank erosion also have not attained significant attention. The river reach just starting from downstream of the Marala barrage to the 7 km downstream was selected to study the bank erosion. The reach is braided with small unstable sand bars and few semi-stable islands and river flows in multiple channels during low flows. The major proportion of the flows in the Chenab River occurs during monsoon season, which brings lot of sediments from the catchment. Thus, sediments in the river flows not only cause changes in the morphology of river but also diversion of highly sediment laden flows into the canals which creates sedimentation issues. Therefore, firstly, sediment rating curve, variation of sediment load and effective discharge for different temporal scales were examined. Secondly, the changes in the river were assessed and the relationships of river bank erosion with branch channels movement and floods magnitudes (during different flow regimes) were developed. Thirdly, two dimensional (2D) hydrodynamic numerical model was simulated for the flows/floods of 2010 and the results were coupled with the excess shear stress approach to predict the bank erosion and identify the river bank locations more vulnerable to erosion.

میاں بیوی میں سے ایک کا قبول اسلام

In the early days of Islam, either of the married couple entering into Islam does not affect their marriage contract and it continued to be valid even after the Emigration of the Holy Prophet (peace and mercy be upon him) to Madina. In fact, it has been observed until Hudhabiya Truce was signed. It was also included the terms if someone from Quraish without accompanying the wali approaches the Holy Prophet (Peaceand Mercy be upon him), he/she will be returned to Makkah. After this agreement, many women came to Madina and embraced Islam. But their spouses and relatives followed them their way to Madina. They claimed them back to Makkah. In this respect, Allah almighty revealed a verse of Surah Mumtahina, which is an express evidence that such believing women must not be returned to their former infidel husbands. They were commanded so to marry believing husbands after their separation from their disbelieving spouses. Through this verse, Muslim husbands were forbidden to stay and have conjugal relations with their nonbelieving wives, too. Similarly,  every believing wife was forbidden to reside with her disbelieving husband. The companions abided by the ruling in its entirety and separated from their non- believing spouses. Jurists have derived many instructions from the verse 10 of Surah Mumtahina, which are discussed in this paper.

Implementing the International Baccalaureate Ib Middle Years Programme Myp in a Private School in Pakistan Rationale and Challenges

The study focused on the process of implementation of International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). The purpose of the study was to get an in-depth understanding of the factors which influenced the initiators to implement the IB MYP, and the challenges they faced in implementing the programme in the Pakistani context, through the principal and the IB coordinator's experiences and perceptions. The study was done through the qualitative case study research approach. The duration of the study was six weeks. The targeted population consisted of two participants (the Principal and the IB coordinator). Data was collected through semi-structured interview, observation, unstructured conversations with the teachers, document analysis and reflection. My analysis started from the first day of fieldwork in the form of reflection and analytical memos. The major limitation of the study was lack of research on IB especially IB MYP, thus, the findings have been compared mainly by the literature based on educational reform and school improvement. The study found that the process of implementation included the following elements; planning, creating awareness, moving through phases, and putting decisions and ideas into practice. The findings indicated that the principal's personal interest in the broad philosophy of IB MYP guided and influenced him to implement the programme in the Pakistani context. The main aim of implementing the IB MYP was to bring quality education in the context of Pakistan. The school faced several challenges such as; pedagogical challenges, challenges in curriculum and management practices, lack of community awareness and language policy in implementing the programme in the Pakistani context. During the process of implementation, the school resolved some of the challenges successfully. First of all, principal's leadership facilitated the implementation process. Besides this, the school followed different steps such as; arranged workshops and training programmes to empower the teachers. Moreover, school's climate of collaboration, team work, fear-free relationship among the administration, teachers and the students, and the supportive monitoring and evaluation process influenced the implementation of IB MYP in the school.
