A Comparative Study of Teacher Education Program in Pakistan and Turkey at Secondary Teacher training is a lynchpin of teaching learning process. Curriculum of teacher training programme plays a vital role in its success. The study was undertaken to compare Secondary School teachers’ education programmes in Pakistan and Turkey. The study pinpointed the points of congruence and incongruence in teacher education programmes of both the countries. The study was carried out to achieve set objectives and research questions.Major objectives of the study were to highlight the procedure which is being used to monitor and evaluate the model lessons; to investigate the similarities and differences in teacher education programmes of both the countries, teaching practice facilities, curriculum, comparison of teaching methodology, teaching faculties of Pakistan and Turkey, foreign professional training, duration of teacher training course, monitoring and evaluation, assigning of projects, comparison of education facilities available in both the countries and to suggest possible plan for teacher education based on best practices of both the countries. Research questions were framed to achieve the objectives of the study. 25 teacher trainers (13 Turkish and 12 Pakistani) and 200 prospective teachers (100 Turkish and 100 Pakistani) were taken as sample for the study. Two survey questionnaires were developed: one questionnaire for teacher trainers and one for prospective teachers from Pakistan and Turkey. Survey Questionnaires were used as an instrument for data collection and data was analyzed by using percentage and mean score. Majority of Turkish teacher educators received foreign professional training while majority of Pakistani teacher educators did not receive any foreign professional training. Teacher educators of both the countries had attended seminars, workshops and conferences. Teacher educators as well as prospective teachers of both the countries had consensus that supervision and evaluation of model lessons should be done by a panel of examiners rather than head of institution or an individual teacher. Turkish teacher educators were satisfied with the number of teaching staff, working conditions, funds for research , internet facilities and gadgets whereas Pakistani teacher educators and prospective teachers were dissatisfied with the number of teaching staff, working conditions, funds for research, internet facilities and gadgets. Turkish prospective teachers and teacher trainers mostly used demonstration method whereas most of Pakistani teacher educators used lecture method. The researcher also recommended that duration of B.Ed. should be increased to two years instead of one year. On the basis of findings, major conclusions were drawn. The researcher gave his findings and recommendations to attain maximum benefit of teacher training programmes in Pakistan and Turkey.

Efektivitas Pembelajaran Daring Mata Kuliah Fisika Di Perguruan Tinggi

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas pembelajaran daring mata kuliah fisika di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi literatur dengan mengambil referensi dari beberapa jurnal dan sumber pustaka dengan pemaparan secara naratif untuk melihat efektifitas pembelajaran daring di perguruan tinggi. Sebagai pendidik, dosen memanfaatkan berbagai media pembelajaran dan aplikasi digital yang diharapkan dapat terintegrasi pada pengalaman belajar mahasiswa dan tetap mengacu pada capaian pembelajaran dalam rencana pembelajaran semester (RPS). Fisika merupakan salah satu mata kuliah wajib. Pembelajaran daring pada mata kuliah fisika di perguruan tinggi memang cukup baik, namun memiliki kendala terhadap pemahaman terhadap materi fisika yang diajarkan oleh dosen di antaranya pembelajaran yang diberikan lebih dominan teoritis dan kegiatan praktikum tidak optimal dilaksanakan. Sehingga efektivitas pembelajaran daring mata kuliah fisika di perguruan tinggi dapat dikategorikan cukup efektif karena hasilnya tidak optimal.

Analysis of Linkages Among Performance Management System, Employee and Organizational Performance of the Cellular Phone Companies in Pakistan

The current study was an attempt to investigate the impact of a comprehensive Performance Management System on Organizational Performance, while analyzing the mediating effect of employee performance and moderation of organizational justice in five Cellular Phone Companies (CPC) of Pakistan. The study was based on the gaps found in previous literature which emphasized on analyzing the effectiveness of performance management system in terms of its employee and organizational outcomes. Survey techniquewas employed for which a questionnaire comprised of multiple borrowed scales was used, which was revalidated in Pakistani context. Data were collected from 271 managers of Cellular Phone Companies of Pakistan. The study involved moderation, mediation and moderated-mediation analyses, for which Preacher and Hayes’ PROCESS MACRO (Model 1, 4 and 8) was used. The results of the study reflected significant moderation of organizational justice, partial mediationof employee performance and significant moderated-mediation effects of both on relationship between performance management system and organizational performance. It was established that comprehensive performance management system, duly supported by perception of organizational justice within the organization, leads to enhanced employee and organizational performance. The researcher also conducted multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and Post Hoc analysis to analyze the differences of performance management system and organizational justice practices among the five cellular phone companies of Pakistan. From theoretical perspective, thecomprehensive performance management system framework comprised of seven dimensions, was usedfor the first time especially in the Pakistani context. Moreover, the moderating effect of organizational justice on performance management system was also researcher’s contribution. The study has also revalidated goal setting, expectancy and equity theory in Pakistani context. Results of the study suggested the cellular phone companies to focus on comprehensive performance management system incorporating goal setting, communication, establishing & monitoring performance expectations, coaching, feedback, performance appraisal and performance consequences along with positive perception of organizational justice in Pakistani context to achieve the objectives of enhanced employee and organizational performance. The study has also provided implications for future research in the area.
